Ok, I think I am done with this site. I used to enjoy reading the stories and posts, but this site has changed. There used to be a wide variety of people on here who I could agree or disagree with and exchange opinions, but now it seems like the site is mainly used by the religious right. A lot of people on here seem to follow conspiracies as well. I originally came here because I'm all about the Constitution, small government, federalism, less spending and taxing, and more freedom to be gained back by we the people. If I remember correctly, thats what the 9 principles and 12 values were mainly about and the purpose for this site as well. These stories and posts have become not only boring but predictable (and scary in some cases).

Glenn, I love ya and will keep listening and watching your show, but this site is going nowhere.

Good point atticus. All the article said was that a pilot was flying and saw something below his plane, and he didn't know what it was. That's it. I need more detail than that before I begin ranting on about how it must have been a terrorist and the end is near. I'm trying to figure out what is the point of people giving you so many thumbs down for your comment. I'm guessing they recognize your name and automatically give a thumbs down because your comment on here didn't merit any thumbs down. If that is the case, then it's pretty childish.

The more I come to this site, the more I'm finding it to be a waste of time. For one thing, this site is full of conspiracy creators and believers, and its almost like the stories are put on here for those purposes. I think some people on here read the stories and posts and turn into sheeple instead of doing some rational thinking. I'll probably get some thumbs down for saying that, but oh well.

I agree that it is not the governments business to be in any Americans bedroom. Thats why I think the government needs to get out of the business of regulating marriage. There is no reason for the government to recognize any marriage or civil union. That should be the individuals choice. We don't need a piece of paper to verify that we are married, were smart enough to know on our own what marriage is. I could care less if the government recognized my marriage. I put on the ring, and the commitment to my wife and thats all that matters. If Joe Blow wants to marry a tree, fine with me as long as the government has nothing to do with it just like my marriage. The problem is Republicans want to control our social issues just as much as the Democrats. They just have different opinions on how to control those issues. Im all about freedom.

The states should be regulating about 90% of what the feds are according to the Constitution!

I don't support gay marriage as well, but you didn't explain why the government needs to regulate or recognize marriage or civil unions for that matter. People use tax purposes or like you stated the insurance purposes as a reason. I think if no marriage (or civil union) was recognized by the government then insurance companies would simply have to change their policies and procedures. The tax reason is another story. I support the fairtax, which would have absolutely no recognition with single or married couples. As for our current tax code, well, I started paying more when I got married which doesn't make sense. I don't think the code should even consider if your single or married. I've yet to see a solid reason why the government needs to be involved with marriage or civil unions. Either way with the gay marriage issue, its about control. Conservatives want to control our social issues just as much as the liberals. They just want to go about it in different ways.

Thoughts? You seem well educated on this issue.

How about the government stop recognizing all marriage as Penn suggested on Glenns show? There is no reason for the government to legally recognize it in the first place. That way, if someone claimed to be married to a tree, what would it matter? That would be that persons opinion, and no one would have to recognize and respect it. We would all still know the difference between a "real" marriage wouldn't we? I mean, there are gays getting married right now but we all know what a real marriage is without the government telling us. We're all about freedom on here right?

An article in everyday Christian shows a statement from the killers ex who stated he was"very religious in an Old Testament, eye-for-an-eye way". Yep, I'm sure he was an atheist or Muslim. We'll hear more about this man soon enough and know all about him. I know my postings have been hard to accept, but they are true. Another childish thumbs down for me??? Im just waiting for a story to break out about a terror plot exposed and hear all of you jump on the "must have been a Muslim" bandwagon. There would be nothing wrong with that statement according to most on here.

More on the article.

I simply connected the dots and made an observation. It's that simple, and I have no problem with Christians. Why can't you accept the fact that as this story continues we will find out that this man was a Christian- or will claim to be- and most likely connected to some radical group? If we had a story about a child being molested in a church, then I would expect everyone on here to say it must have been a Catholic church. If we had a story about terrorism, everyone would say it must have been a Muslim. Its common sense, not disrespect.

Again, 85-90% of this country is Christian. We claim we are a Christian nation. Yet when something bad happens, Christians wont claim it. This isn't the first time a story like this has happened, and I have noticed through the years that usually a Christian or Christian group is responsible. Sorry for being a realist. You do like to blame all Muslims for terrorism right? That seems to be a popular trend on this site.

Also, I said I wasnt "blanketing" the Christian religion. I was pointing out that when these stories break out, it is usually a Christian that did it. There is a difference. Am I wrong?
