New Complaint - yesterday at the Met Game - I took the #4 train into the Stadium. The idiots at MTA would not let us down the stairs to get off on the north side of 161st street - so they make you go over 161st street - then down the stairs - exiting on the South side of 161st Street where you have to cross it to get to the New Stadium. OK - but, yesterday - when you got down the stairs - Police Barricades in the way - you could not cross by the Hard Rock - you had to walk down 161st street next to the old Stadium - down to Babe Ruth Plaza - and then cross there!!! What idiots have set up the walking traffic pattern for the Stadium? Let us off on the north side of 161st Street from the train platform and we don't have to cross the street at all!!! IDIOTS!!!
I was standing up - cursing A-Roid for being Mr. Non-Clutch - turned around ready to head up the stairs so I did not have to see F-Rod point to the heavens - and at least I got to hear "He Dropped It" in time to see Tex sliding into home plate!!! Lots of people left early - can't wait to catch it on Yankee Replay!!
It will take two years - they made us take a minimum 2 year contract to get the "Premium" level seats - and the prices for next year are already built into that contract.
While everyone keeps saying the upper level seats are further away from the field - I don't think they are that much further away. Remember they moved home plate 20 feet closer to the backstop then they were before. On Sunday, there were 4 balls hit into the Terrace level right behind home plate - one made it to the 7th row. We saw maybe 2-3 more hit into the Terrace level down the field further. Maybe not as many as before - but they will be hit there.
I think they are going to just give them away to their big sponsors - they can't sell them easily without getting everyone upset - they obviously over-reached with the prices and will try to find a way out of it - don't forget - they DON'T have to lower the ticket prices - the just have to lower the license fee that they charge on top of the ticket price - so the official ticket price will stay the same.
Not when the contract is signed with false representation - we have our seats in the Jim Beam Suite - were told that the Suite was right behind the seats - it is not - it is across the concourse - we were told we would have access to the private suite elevator - yet there was a sign on the elevator on Thursday saying that at peak times the elevator would not go to the 300 level - we were told there would be a glass shield in front of the seats and NO BAR on it - yet there is a metal bar one inch thick on the glass - we were told our tickets cost $135 per ticket - yet the tickets only say $65 per ticket. We asked for tours before signing and were refused. To me - that is a contract signed under false representation and is voidable.
The big question for me is what they will do to all the people who signed 2 year (or more) contracts for these premium seats based on false descriptions - will they take those of us who try to get out of it to court? Or will they reach some accommodation? We had to sign at least a 2 year contract - and the 2 year contract had a 6% escalator clause built into it - which goes all the way "down" to a 4% annual increase if you signed on for 10 years!!!
Also figured out that it is NOT Plexiglas but real glass - but, instead of going with a single piece - it is a double sheet - hence the need for the border. Real glass will hold up and not scratch like Plexiglas will - but the double sheet it probably needed for either strength or price. These seats were $55 last year.
Per the reps the Yankee Premium Offerings office - the Jim Beam Suite - 1300 seats in those 9 sections behind home plate - sold out in 4 days because they were felt to be the BEST value in all the premium sections - now - not so sure.....
In the 300 Section you have to go all the way to the left field end to get the sliders - it is the LAST stand on that level and the only one on the 300 level selling the sliders.
