Cheers to all of you. Thanks for sharing yourselves, and for helping me find myself and lose myself (all in good ways).

Thank you for everything: for your writing and your editing and especially for sharing your joy in working with writers. I'm looking forward SO MUCH to reading your book.

I read this yesterday, and then I came back to reread it today, because it's so good and I needed to read it again. Thanks for writing and sharing this.

Oh, awesome! Looking forward to that. And having a new podcast to devour might make the end of the Toast a little less difficult, thank you.

Me too! I loved this one as a preteen--I checked it out from the library multiple times--and I was so delighted to reread it a few years ago and see that it still held up as a Very Good Book.

(And I've always wanted to read more fiction or nonfiction about Eleanor of Aquitaine, if you or anyone else has any recommendations!)

Bartender, thank you for setting a kind (and tasty) tone each week.

This week, I read Bernice L. McFadden's The Book of Harlan, and it was beautiful and deceptively simple and felt like a real life. For all the awfulness it contained, the integration of so many different oppressions and hatreds and the forces of love (and music) that resist it all...it was comforting to read.

I also read the second book in Dave Hutchinson's Fractured Europe sequence, and though I read it before the UK's EU referendum, it feels very much TOO SOON, and now I'm just nauseous & furious again thinking about it. (Fascinating worldbuilding and complicated, fascinating geopolitical speculation, though.)

That sounds like an awesome method of enjoying it.

I have! I liked the second one, but I didn't like the last one as much, though now I can't remember why.

I haven't! It looks adorable. I'll have to check it out.
