Blackmail, peer pressure, a willingness to cheat, abandoning students when they are in need. Principal Cinch is pretty much everything I despise in an educator. There is likely going to be no other villain in this series that I will dislike as much as her.

They may have guesses, but when it comes to the actual evidence gathering, they would likely he a harder time putting everything together. It's possible they may miss certain things such as the scarf being tied in a different way, or the loose curtain. Some would notice, but they would likely need guiding to understand the significance and connect the pieces. Young children are generally still developing their ability to problem solve and critically think.
