We love getting lost and being off the beaten path! Those are some of my fondest memories.
Thanks for sharing your trip! Such beauty even in a war torn city.

I love a good country walk! And one that has the Leeds castle in the distance is definitely worth ruined boots! ;)

We're now living in our 5th European country (our children's 4th) and 14 years. Our kids were adopted and conceived by IVF all in another country (Czech Republic), what an experience that was!! They've never lived anywhere longer than 18 months, but oh the experiences they've had all before the ages of 7 & 8!
I have to say that the pros have outweighed the cons. The biggest cons have been language as well as adjusting to certain cultures (Spain & England have not been as difficult for us as say Russia, Czech Republic & Austria) and just the way they do things.
I was chatting with a Greek friend with American citizenship by her now deceased husband but living in England. The biggest reason she doesn't want to move back to the US is because of the small amount of vacation time she would receive per year. In England she gets 6 weeks a year as well as several holidays!! Can't blame her that she'd rather stay in England!!
And now we've lived away from the US for so long that we're not completely American anymore. When I'm in Europe, I feel like an American (to some extent) and when I'm in America I feel more European. A bit of an identity crisis, but that's ok! I'm an expat and there is a comraderie with other expats. They get me!
We've now lived in England for 6 months and hope to be here for many years. We love it as it's a wonderful culture for kids and an added bonus, they speak English!!
Great topic!!

Amen!! I was really impressed by a devotional on 1 Corinthians 2:2. I am focusing alone on Christ and Him crucified!! We can make this journey together!!
