Smithsonian recently ran an article that dovetails with this. It was about how people on the Autism Spectrum in American history were perceived by society as a whole. Interesting stuff, especially with the variety in how autism presents in individuals.

I am super impressed and pleased for you. That is a most excellent use of a blizzard. Speaking of chairs made of books and shutters and other repurposed things, does anyone else look at those projects and think that it's pretty but wonder if their fat ass could actually sit in it?

Like me you've probably had the experience of trying on a shirt and saying "Give me three more inches and I have a dress!" Maybe try popping one of those on over leggings. You'll rock those legs, be stylish, and still be comfortable.

I'm underemployed in a field where 3/4ths of the jobs require a Master's that I don't have. I'd like to work more before deciding to go to grad school but it's been difficult to find jobs that don't require a masters and are either full time or won't conflict with my current position. I'd like to apply for grad school and see if a masters is feasible but the money side is a little difficult for me.

I missed open thread last week but I quite like the idea of Little Things:
1. I have been mixing lemon ginger tea with honey and bourbon. It's warming, delicious, and feels vaguely medicinal in a good way.
2. I finally figured out what I was doing wrong trying to make hard boiled eggs and can now actually make them.
3. I got new bedding for Christmas and it still makes me happy.
