Longtime fans and readers of the History of iMPACT! column of course. You can go back and read about every show DDP was on if you like. *cheap plug*
And not radically different from what they get lately, eight years and a much inflated wage bill later.
And never let the tag and X-Divisions disappear. It just goes to show how inefficient TNA are with their TV time these days.
ONO: Xtravaganza and No Surrender.
The biggest weaknesses for the ONO so far are them all being in Orlando so I'm quite pleased they're doing them in the place of live events.
iMPACT! takes a few weeks off so next Wednesday will be the debut on Spike.
I've always disliked the ideas of wrestling vs. stories because I don't think it should be the case. There's a good balance to be struck where one leads to the other (and countless stories can be told through in ring wrestling which too often seems forgotten). I don't think any North American company has come remotely close to finding that right balance in recent times. ROH go too far one way, TNA and WWE too far the other.
Indeed NJPW and TNA's philosophies are polar opposites, but it's not like TNA's is working. And New Japan's would be extremely easy to implement (for the most part TNA already have the talent). I am a proponent of more wrestling on the show but not in the ROH sense. Rather focusing on building up matches so that they're important and winners and losers actually matter. Similar to how WWE started Main Event (until it fell down to a glorified Superstars) at the start but on a larger scale.
That's just total nonsense. New Japan has delivered consistent top quality shows elevating a bunch of new stars and having real MOTYC's on nearly every show for over two years now. That's why people like it. TNA have been inconsistent at best and done plenty to test even the most loyal fans patience, that's why they get flak. This idea that there are haters and hipsters is just rubbish.
The overwhelmingly positive response to New Japan being pretty amazing lately debunks the idea that fans are just looking for something to give out about. Give them long term quality and they'll respond.
