I don't agree with everything Obama does, and as a Veteran I have thought a lot about this policy that limits the speech of service members. So whether I agree with this Marine's views or not, there are very good reasons for the "rules" being different and I believe that they should be that way. I also know that he knew what they were and choose to make such a public statement. So again, whether I agree or not I do think he deserves to no longer serve in the military.
Sadly I have to agree with you as well, there is always going to be that small percentage of people who use and abuse the system and get away with it. Those few often become the poster child for the rest of the group. I know from personal experience as well as friends that it is those stories that make those of us who do need the help afraid to get it. I say that simply in that there is already so much shame and negativity that goes with seeking help for this kind of thing and then to fear the labels does not help. Sadly the labels happen often because of that one bad apple. As a veteran myself, I can say that there is a huge stigma and fear around going to the VA for anything. Nothing like getting a slap in the face by the same government that one fought for, both by the VA but also by dudes like you shared about. He should be ashamed of himself.

I agree, if we as a society would stop worrying about what consenting adults are doing in their bedrooms and focused on some real problems facing our country we might start to get someplace.
As a veteran all I can think to say is WTF??
This happened just a few houses from me, and I must say watching all those cops go by chasing the dude...I am just glad this ended safely.
She should cry, because anyone who does this kind of thing (and laughs) is very mentally disturbed. Pure evil, and as such the punishment should fit the crime. Too bad we did away with public executions a long time ago.
