I think it's a very valid question.
Unionists only seem interested in justice for Catholic victims who were murdered by the IRA,and have consistently opposed any justice for Catholic victims who were murdered by trigger happy,red-faced savages in uniform.

To be fair to draculastongue though,he has been consistent in condemning murder from all sides.

Adams and Sinn Fein say all of the right things but this is easy when you're not burdened with the task of making tough decisions.

Yes but the people behind the overwhelming majority of these attacks don't really consider themselves Irish.

The Irish aren't exactly happy about this.

I don't agree with the naming of the park and i'm not defending it.

How does the council involvement make it any worse? There is enough of that bullsh!t to go around.Only yesterday Newtonabbey council agreed to spend £30,000 on a purpose built bonfire site. And we all know what goes on these bonfires, don't we?
Tell me,are you ashamed of that,or just offended by the McCreesh park thing?

It's not different.

What we have here are Unionists, under the usual cynical guise of moral concern, trying to peddle a preposterous idea that some threshold of moral decency has suddenly been broken.Ha! ha!

You acknowledge that these shrines appear in the areas of both communities but have the audacity to claim that "Republicans offended by everything ashamed of nothing".That's hard to stomach, considering that whinging about terrorism is a loyalists bread and butter.
Try leading by example for once in your lives.

I've been following this story in the Irish and British media.
McGuinness didn't hijack anything. The British media chose to put his presence at the meeting front and centre of the story. The Irish media focused more on Higgins and the Queen.

How is it any different to all those militaristic UVF,UDA,UFF murals all over Antrim and Down? What about all of those small shrines to "fallen heroes" in protestant estates? Do you think that young protestant kids aren't absorbing these messages all around the environment that they grow up in?

The biggest opponent to the naming of McCreesh park was Willie Frazer. The biggest opponent to Anna Lo's proposal to cover militaristic loyalist terrorist murals was Willie Frazer.

What way do your people want it? Nationalists to live by a moral standard that you are not prepared to live by? That's what it looks like to me.
