Those 'hicks' happen to my wife's family - mother and father to be exact - are you expecting her to tell them to **** off? Is that how you treat your parents, wee baz. It's not as if the dirty auld priest castrated them - he just babbled a load of nonsense, sprinkled a bit of water, and nothing changed except her wee mammy and daddy went back to dull Tyrone happy(ish). And yes, she happens to be my wife - it always pays to keep a beautiful wife happy, as any good husband knows (you auld lonely, childless bachelor and orphan/bast**d, you.).

That's the joy of being a free thinkin' family who laughs in the face of these Christian faiths. You have fun in the chapel, and don't forget to tell that wee collared idiot all about your dirtiest thoughts and actions in confession now.

'Major event' - hahahaha. It's as meaningful as a fart in the wind, weebaz, but you carry on convincing yourself this outdated claptrap holds any meaningful resonance in people's lives in the 21st century.
And you forget, this 'British military might' consists of soldiers from all faiths - be it catholic, protestant, Jewish, Hindu or Muslim. Have you forgotten thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of your fellow catholic Irish men have served under the Union flag? No doubt about it.

My children love everything to do with the UK and its proud, glorious past. They watched the Jubilee celebrations waving their little Union flags with total joy and glee; they enjoyed the majestic royal wedding, wishing they could become princesses in the royal family too, while, once again, waving those wee Union flags; they sighed, ohh'ed and ahh'ed when little Prince George was born. They also get to enjoy the glorious 12th, as well as a great evening watching a bonfire the night before. You see, weebaz, that label those backward little Tyrone hicks slapped on them means sweet FA to their little innocent minds and lives - as well as my wife and my own - and those backward little Tyrone hicks get no say in any of this whatsoever. The look of pent up rage in their granda's eyes as they showed him their little flags and mock crowns was a joy to behold. My eldest has even started to tell her teacher in school that her 'religious beliefs' is 'freethinking and atheist'; not catholic nor protestant. I taught them well.
They know they're British, and they celebrate it too every chance they get. They also enjoy the St Patrick's day parades in Belfast. I bet your own kids and yourself - if you have any, which I doubt - never get to enjoy such a diverse and culturally rich upbringing. Just that maudlin, Brit hating, sectarian oriented one so common in your kind.
Caved in? Haha - good one.
And as for the excellent, world renowned Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, I'm sure you've google earthed it often enough, wishing you could mortar bomb from afar like the coward...sorry...'freedom fighter' you want to be, of course - haha.

And maybe goad them a little with some reminders of the present, the UK's glorious past, and the fact those Eton boys in London still rule over them -despite thier defeated terrorists attempts to make it otherwise.
it's that simple, mate.
