Documentaries don't do well as well at the box office. Hence, this is why directors and producers would crank out movies on the 54th Regiment (Glory) and the Tuskegee Airmen (Red Tails) instead of documentaries on these heroes.

I'm baffled how any Black person (rich, poor, liberal, conservative, etc.) could defend Hollywood of all places with such ferocity.

Seriously, isn't Hollywood the same place that usually portrays Black men as buffoons, gangbangers, deadbeat fathers, and drug dealers? And don't get me started on the "Black woman = mindless sex object" meme that appears in too many movies.

And you wonder why Black filmmakers like Tyler Perry and now Spike Lee want to create films as far from Hollywood as possible?

Yes, but you don't demonize the U.S. military if you disagree with current foreign policy. The real culprits are Congress and the first Black President who are responsible for foreign policy so you should aim your criticism at them.
