She's also just the loveliest cat. That look she's giving me in the photo is her requesting permission to curl up on my chest in bed and purr, after a long day spent following me around and sitting on me whenever my body parts happened to form a flattish surface.

Thank you for this comment. I was just freaking out because middle-aged cat + being a long way from home + a lot of other important family stuff I'm missing out on/can't help with. You were absolutely right and she is 100% okay, according to the vet, and her symptoms have gone away. I'm glad your dog is doing well - we're currently checking out breeds we'd like to adopt some time soon and that sounds like an awesome cross!

Those who gave me internet hugs the other day for my parents' cat, I am happy to say that the vet thinks she's fine and in perfect nick for a 10 year old kitty. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I was in a bad, bad anxiety spin and you really helped me not feel alone.

Can someone please send me some good thoughts. I am having anxiety over all kinds of things happening to my distant family, and the latest is the news that my parents' cat (the worlds loveliest cat, no joke, I will fight you) has to see a vet because her legs aren't holding her up and she is falling over a lot. She's only 10 and the most benign explanation is an ear infection, but of course my brain is spinning over all the other things it could be.
