It's interesting that you bring this point up. Many of you citizens of the U.S. must read the principles of Leninism that have been quoted time and time again by the OAS, it's practically a manual for destroying the country and retaining power. I can't remember them all, but one of its main objectives is to make it all seem like its "popular oriented".

Parallels can be made from what happened here in Honduras to what happened in Venezuela, going back to Chile in 197-. You'd be astonished, as it seems your President's game plan keeps reminding me of this document, can't remember the name exactly, but it was a report from the OAS about Chile in the 70's.

Yes, I can tell you, all citizens on the street are very proud of the way Honduran Armed Forces (FAH) have behaved throughout this endeavor. They sided with the LAW, and the LAW is the CONSTITUTION OF HONDURAS!

Yes, you can see a lot of military around the airport, precisely because the Air Force Base is next to the airport.

REMINDER: Ex-president Zelaya stormed and raided that same Air Force Base to obtain the materials and polls to ILLEGALLY proceed against the CONSTITUTION OF HONDURAS.

NOTE: All commercial flights in Honduras ARE and HAVE been running normally as the events have unfolded, any delays or cancellations have been due to weather patterns in the country, which anyone whose been here will tell you are wildly unpredictable.

Speaking From Honduras:

I'm tired of watching the spin of the news from other countries. There has been no military coup in Honduras since 1982. The events unfolded as follows:

1. Ex-President Manuel Zelaya wanted to perform what was supposed to be a poll. The question was: Do you want to change the Constitution of Honduras by way of a national assembly?

NOTE: A national assembly would have eliminated all government representatives and institutions, until the new constitution would be drafted, las time this happened was in 1982, when the Honduran Armed Forces returned power to civil authorities.

2. Last week, poll was supposed to be last Sunday, an Executive Order was drafted and published, it stated that the result of the poll was binding, and obliged the government to comply with the result of the poll, turning such poll into a referendum.
3. Referendums in Honduras can only be enacted by the National Congress of Honduras.
4. Seeing what happened, the Public Ministry (your equivalent would be the Attorney General), took matters to the Judicial Supreme Court of Honduras, which concluded that such poll is illegal and ordered the Executive branch to cease and desist from its realization.
5. Ex-president Zelaya disobeyed such orders and insisted that such poll would take place whatever the cost, as Commander in Chief he ordered armed forces to distribute such polling booths and material (as is the case in general elections), second in command General Romero declined to comply with orders as they would result in defiance of the law. General Romero was illegally separated from his position later that night, only to be reinstated by Congress (which is the only institution that can legally remove him) next morning.
6. Ex-president Zelaya proceeded to lead his followers and stormed the military air force base in order to obtain the illegal poll material, so that he could proceed to apply it.
7. National Congress, Supreme Court, Civil Organizations and Associations decided to separate Ex-president Zelaya from office because of failure to comply with the law and attempting to destroy the Constitution of Honduras.
8. As stated in our constitution Roberto Michelletti, President of Congress, was handed the responsibility of the Executive branch, himself replaced within Congress.
9. The Supreme Court has been vigilant throughout the whole process so that it has been according to law.
10. Honduran Armed Forces have respected the instances of the law at all moments, there have been no casualties, no blood has been spilled because of this and I AM PROUD of the way they have behaved.
11. According to law all three government powers are ruling the country, former president Zelaya was ousted in a LEGAL manner and according to our DEMOCRATIC resolutions.
12. The country has not stopped, business is as usual, except for businesses close to the Executive building, and the less than 500 people rioting you keep showing DO NOT represent the rest of the 7 Million citizens of Honduras.

WE WILL FIGHT FOR OUR CONSTITUTION!
WE DO NOT TAKE ORDERS FROM FOREIGN LEADERS LIKE CHAVEZ!
WE WILL HAVE GENERAL ELECTIONS ON NOVEMBER 29 OF 2009!
WE THE PEOPLE OF HONDURAS WILL STAND FOR DEMOCRACY EVEN IF OBAMA DOESN'T WANT TO!
