In our school, anyway, all the supplies go into a pool for the whole class - so I guess they don't want the "poor kids" bringing inferior brands that would then possibly be handed to a kid who's parents bought a higher quality brand pencil. I doubt my kids would know the difference, or give a crap, but some kids would I guess.

I'll do a recipe post but I just cook carrots in a little butter until they're just barely soft, and add garlic and lemon juice. I leave them still in the pan till they get seared and the "black" parts look burnt to the kids

A Humble Brag is when you want to brag about how awesome you are (or usually, how awesome your shit is) but couch it as a complaint. "Gee, keeping my 7 Maserati's clean is such a chore! I had to hire a new valet!" -- or not even that extreme - "running my kids from ballet to polo to lacrosse and then to french lessons is killing me! I had to miss my weekly massage!"
