It is worrying that this malign buffoon persists in continuing his antic parade with more attempts at fund-raising. As many will know the Embassy Series has disassociated itself from this soi disant messiah of Lithuanian-Jewish relations. This should be sufficient warning to any who contemplate patronising Little Mr Sunflower's concerts.

I am curious about the photos since the solitary headstone shown is not typical of of traditional headstones. Where was the photograph taken?
It also strikes me that anyone who has even an antediluvian familiarity with restoration techniques will realise that attaching metal tags to headstones is destructive. But then, so is dishonesty so this may be part of Mr Helstein's pathology of trashing Jewish heritage.

This assumes, of course, that the connexion with the Good Newsers is for real.

I should also point out the name of his organisation, at least on all his publicity, is the Jewish Lithuanian Heritage Project NOT the Lithuanian Jewish Heritage Project as indicated in the article (although not in the link given in the article).
There are a number of organisations, in addition to ours, which do honest work in heritage preservation, MASEVA, for one. It will be a pity if the dubious activities of, at best, a fantasist discredits these worthwhile efforts.
I, for the present, leave it to others, do comment on his various affiliations and promotors.

I cannot underscore strongly enough that we are not associated with any of Felstein’s exercises, whatever their intended purposes, altruistic, antic or otherwise. The East European Jewish Heritage Project has never undertaken to represent local Jewish groups except, on occasion, at their request on specific matters. We supply assistance and support for renewal and the building of inter-community relations both amongst Jews and between Jewish and non-Jewish communities. We are also involved in heritage preservation and historical research. I am deeply concerned and resent any confusion between ourselves and this arriviste on the scene and on this cynical self-promotion.
