People here may be shocked to learn that out here in the real world, most Modern Orthodox do support these views.

And I totally get that you would not like that to be the reality but it is.

Write and write some more, Ms. Burg.

No one is trying to claim our land here as their national territory, unlike in Israel.

Your entire comparison is founded on a profound ignorance of reality.

At some point Netanyahu will no longer be prime minister.

Lieberman or Bennett will have their turn to lead.

This incident today has shown Jews and the people of Israel, that Netanyahu, if anything, while eloquent, is not willing to take off his gloves and show the Arabs that Jews rule in Israel and will not be leaving.

Israel is a Jewish state.

This is something that the Muslims, who are not shy about proclaiming their over 20 Muslim states, will never come to terms with.

Eventually, the Holy Temple will be open to people of all faiths to worship.

It is a matter of time.

And that time will be coming sooner than later.

Kahane was right and will someday emerge as a prophet who was not appreciated in his day.

Dr. Aviv is identified as associate director of Judaism your way.

Judaism your way?

Would ketchup, no mayo and some red onion qualify?

Just when I thought things at the Forward had gone over the edge, I now realize that even the edge is gone.

Fitting that she will now become a rabbi for Jewish Renewal, the place of last resort for those who, like Michael Lerner, want to have rabbi before their name but without any credible rabbinical training.

Freundel has long billed himself as an expert in ethics and religion.
He even testified before Congress not too long ago in this capacity. It was a big part of his MO ( no, not Modern Orthodox) in Washington, DC where he had many very prominent bigwigs and VIPs in his congregation.

So much for his innumerable exhortations regarding ethics and his long-time holier-than-thou attitude toward the rest of us who could never, ever measure up to his exalted status.

Today's Washington Post ( Section B1) has an article in which the local police say that they recovered files, each carefully labeled with the name of a woman congregant, that had contained his personal movies of them naked in the ritual bath room. He told woman to never, ever cover over the clock radio where he had hidden his camera.

Before the police took the computer he tried to delete all the files. Then he announced that he was innocent ( the man is a lawyer, too) and that this whole thing is absolutely fabricated.

Well, he lied.

Many local orthodox Jews are still defending him. It can't be true. He was such a big scholar and a great leader, they say. But it is all true.

Every last damning bit of it.

The man deserves punishment and hopefully he will get it.

He has destroyed his reputation, ruined what was a great shul, demoralized many people, committed countless sins against God and man and, of course, left his family broken.

What a guy.

This is not exactly a shock to many here in the DC area who know Freundel.

Besides being judgmental, egotistical and, according to an article in today's Washington Post, interviewing many congregants, " aloof" man, he also has a long history of being more Catholic than the Pope, so to speak.

As a gay man who davvened in his shul many years ago, I was disgusted when he condemned people like me. His actions were a part of why I left orthodoxy for good.

And now we learn what that he had installed a camera to film naked women for his own viewing pleasure.

It is not only true but the police, as reported in today's Washington Post, found that he tried to delete all the files on his own computer to avoid getting caught.

Unfortunately for him, he left the names of all the women on the files and these remain. In addition, he didn't realize that merely deleting them wouldn't save him from having them retrieved on the hard drive.

So not only is he guilty as sin of hypocrisy, perversion, lying, sexual misconduct, and so many other things before man and God, he is now also revealed to be technologically clueless.

As one other local orthodox rabbi ( the ones I know here have long considered him hopelessly in love with himself and his own career) told me recently, Doesn't he know about the internet? He can get all the free porn he wants there. What a fool for abusing his own congregants this way and destroying his family who are now suffering the fallout of the father's perfidy.

He will never again work as a rabbi and his credibility as a lawyer and expert on ethics ( yes, believe it or not, that is how he bills himself during his testimony to Congress and at many conferences on religion and ethics) is totally blown.

Have a happy New Year.

What a fascinating column by this writer.

He has a long history of writing similar stuff so what is the big surprise?

I am happy that others, too, realize that he is getting more and more desperate in what passes for writing.
