Some of you are pathetic. Blame the cops when they react. Blame them when they dont. The only thing worse than being a cop in this city is having to protect the morons, of which there are many. By the way, screaming from your car is not a crime, or even something the guy COULD be stopped for.

And if they had stopped him and there had been a fight, youde blame them for that too. My greatest wish is that someday you all have the chance to deal with the crazies and criminals yourself and the cops can sit back and prosecute you for "being rude or excessive" or whatever else you would be CERTAIN to do.

I am so sick of these dirtbags running through the streets, breaking OTHER peoples stuff and screaming "REVOLUTION". Yea right. More like DEVOLUTION on the EVOLUTIONARY chain.

KOMO is even using the "heavily edited" videos of the Anarchists now as if they were brother journalists. I take that back. Every day it seems more and more they are brother journalists.

All this 1% crap, and it turns out that KOMO is just trying to generate money through creating controversy. Shame on your capitalist corporate greed.

Just one more sure and steady step towards reminding the police NOT TO DO ANYTHING. And I do hope we reach that point soon. I hope the cops dont respond, and that this Black Block group of Anarchists marches on KOMO and does the kinds of things they have been doing in other cities. You really think the police would try to stop property damage at KOMO knowing that you are videoing everything and will make the very people there to save you look as bad as possible?

What a great day that would be.

You people are clueless. When the DOJ forced Los Angeles to accept the decree, they sent in all their former DOJ buddies, now private attorneys, and bilked the city for about 30 million a year. Yea... their former colleagues made millions in "monitoring". Its not what you know its who you know.

Another point. A former DOJ statistition and professor reviewed how the DOJ came to its "conclusions" about use of force etc... (This guy is totally independent and worked FOR the DOJ). He said that the DOJ numbers of 20 percent excessive use of force were hogwash at best and were tossed out there for the PRESS to pressure the city, hence the "if you wanna know how we got the numbers sue us".

Can things be improved. Sure. But dont bury your heads up your backsides to the other side of it which is manipulation and lies by the DOJ. Shocking I know.

And the whole SPD Gangbangers crap just makes you sound like an uniformed, undereducated, partisan hack who is unable to actually grasp the FULL situation but is limited in intellect to casting wild aspersions

Yea.. good question. Where are the DOJ, ACLU and the KOMO4 news team now? When do we get the next "Shocking dashcam video of an officer using an actual swearword!" Egads!

Funny how all that trumped up KOMO BS falls away when something REAL happens. But feel free to keep bashing the cops. You folks have been begging for a police force that acts like the customer service desk at Nordstroms. Hows that working for you so far?

And you people wonder why crime is running wild? You really think cops are going to go out and shake down "suspicious" people knowing that if the suspect fights in any way they will be second guessed and threatened with days off (thousands of dollars lost) or fired? Punished for a job well done. Yea right.

You want some real results, feel free to call those DOJ suits who know how to diffuse every situation and have perfect hindsight. Let them do the dirty work of contacting gang bangers in the south end. I would love to see those big shot theory based lawyers try out their bs in the real world.

I hope Seattle does turn into Compton of 1990. Maybe then the city wont place their major emphasis on whether an officer uses a swear word while dealing with the murdering raping scumbags of the city. Or whether an officer pulls into a bus zone (which they are allowed to do) to pick up paperwork.

Yes, I read that SPD officers were called in by internal affairs for an investigation because someone complained that their marked patrol car was in a bus zone for 5 minutes. How dare they! Yea, they actually had an INVESTIGATION over that and researched all the GPS logs for all the police cars to find out who it was.

You liberals are HIGH. People talk crap to officers all the time, yelling "F U Pig" along with a whole host of other stuff on a daily basis. Thumbup you really do have your thumbup, and I know where. "Word wounds never heal". Please... what kind of trip are you on. If thats the case then then the cops shouldnt have to deal with the public screaming obscenities at them.

Oh wait, the "word wounds" hurt less when you are paid to listen to them right?

Most of you need a hard dose of reality about what dealing with violent loud mouthed dirtbags on the street is really like. Your rigid construct of self righteous verbal protocols and actions would go out the window so fast. You would be the first ones screaming back and swinging a club.

Pathetic but typical Monday morning quarterbacks.

OK lets get down to it. The guy steals a car, runs over pedestrians, tries to hit officers, rams police cars, AND they decided NOT to chase him anymore after all that.

Actually, I am sure that decision was made for them. Why? So noone gets in trouble. Yea.. the police are aftraid of getting into trouble for rightfully going after scumbag who does all of the above. Great. They are afraid to get in trouble with the press, the DOJ, the admin.

Pretty soon you better start packing a gun for yourself. The cops are so beat down with bad press and regulations that doing NOTHING is easier than doing SOMETHING that COULD get you in trouble.

Even if they catch these dirtbags the penalties in Seattle would not be a sufficient deterent to stop them. You would hear"Its only a property crime" or some other excuse not to crucify these dirtbags. I can guarantee you the people who did this have had long and extensive practice at thieving and have never been sufficiently punished to give them pause in Seattle.
