From what I can tell...

Link had a premonition one day (like those nightmares he had in Skyward Sword) that a great evil will come. He tried warning the others of the land, but they called him crazy and imprisoned him. Now that his premonition came true, they came to him for help. Link and his people were getting ready to fight the demonic forces when the Goddess Hylia came to the Hylians to find the true wielder of the Master Sword and the rider of the Crimson Loftwing. Link accepted the Master Sword and re-tempered it while Hylia fended off the demons, and that's as far as the translations go.

:D

The manga is not canon and has never been canon. This is simply Akira Himekawa's take on the backstory of Skyward Sword. They've (Akira Himekawa is actually two women) done this before for Majora's Mask.

Don't think too much about it -- it's just something they put in, almost like fanart. While it may be the "official" manga, remember, it's not canonical.

The manga itself is not canonical, but in Skyward Sword it was mentioned that there already was another hero before SS Link.

So while we do know that there's a Link before SS Link, the one we see in the manga here might or might not be that incarnation since it's not canonical.

"Gods... humans... Both of you seek the same answers from me. You use me... only when it suits you."

I can't tell you how much I love this Link. XD

Oh... When I first heard about this, I expected a full-length comic book type thing. XD Skyward Sword is already getting a manga made for it, so I thought that Nintendo also signed up for a western-styled comic as well...

Well, it was nice while it lasted. :) Short, but I think it gets the point across.

I loved Fi. She was such an amazing helper in my opinion. I actually liked how she told me when my batteries were low. Plus she seems to always have something helpful to say. Fi has enemy analysis, character analysis, play time, rumors, a summary of what you did last, your objective of what you're currently supposed to be doing, tips on playing, and an analysis of that area you're in.

I had no problem with her telling me that my hearts/shield/batteries were low since she offered all of the above. XD

While the sky may seem big at first, it's really empty and barren like a lot of people have pointed out. But you know, this is actually my favorite method of transportation purely because I just think that it's the absolute greatest feeling in any video game when you can fly aimlessly through the clouds with your Slyloftian Knight buddies... Every time I set out on a flight, I always try to find them so that I can just be part of their group. X3

The Loftwing is so fun to ride on; I know that others might disagree, but this is it for me. :) I can't express how amazing it is to just fly. It completely takes away my disappointment of having a barren sky overworld.

This article makes many good points, and I agree. But it's just too fun. X3

(Just my opinion! :D)
