For it to break even it needs about $30 per month, but for me to really commit to it, it needs to earn as much as a decent job might. I'm not expecting to get anywhere near that, but even breaking even helps out a lot.

I've been thinking about that, actually.

8chan used Patreon for a while until some Gamergate nonsense got them banned from the site, but from what I understand this is how it worked: People gave money to the patreon, and that money was technically being put towards the site. What the patrons got in return was a cat video every week from the creator of 8chan and the patreon.

It's an interesting workaround, but it technically complies with their rules. 8chan's only got taken down because it was deemed to be "hateful."

Perhaps EQAD could do something like that. Every week or month I could like... draw a crude pony or something as a patron reward. Technically the money would be funding the site, and by extension, me.
