Anyone paying even the slightest attention WAAAAY back in 2008 should have seen this coming when then candidate Obama opened his mouth to say that HE was going to bring hope and change to America - any person who decides to enter politics without having any idea of what it takes to actually live an American life should NEVER become an elected official. Americans MUST remain engaged in politics, otherwise, these are the results - history proves this over and over again - Wilson, FDR, Carter, Clinton...must anything more be said? And if Americans aren't aware of this history, we have our Dept of Education to thank for that. But with this nomination of an academic professional who claims to understand how Americans live and therefore is qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice, she'll have this position for life. The damage that has been done to America just since Obamas' inauguration will take years to undo - Do Americans have the fortitude to make Washington be what it is supposed to be? Representative of the people and not simply representative of the liberal ideal of a Utopian society (which by the way can never be realized - it's a pipe dream!)? I sure do pray for our nation and for those patriotic Americans who are finally engaged in expressing their abhorrence to the policies that have shaped every aspect of our lives and inhibited our liberty and freedom for decades. Kagan will likely be confirmed, which is simply one other reason why ALL Americans must remain engaged and realize that when WE slack off, they take off and make laws, expand government, attempt to create social justice by redistributing wealth and ultimately dismiss We the People as irrelevant. I don't think we are going to be irrelevant come November!

The argument is really based in who Americans want in our country. If we are born here, we understand the inherent rights we have as citizens - it IS the citizens that make America free and proud. Now, the argument is how to determine who is here? When so much was being debated about immigration reform in the 80's, the impact to the migrant worker was severe enough that those jobs were then left to those who came here illegally. Those illegal migrant workers had no problem with hard work. Picking fruits and vegetables to feed us is not a form of work to be looked down upon. I worked very hard picking fruits and vegetables during the late 70's and into the 80's. Even after coming out of the recession Carter imposed on the nation, I made very good money, usually over $100.00 a day. Hard work? Yes, but it paid off as hard work always does.
This argument/issue should not be abour how to identify those here illegally. That is just ONE aspect of the issue. If issues are not resolved fully, the problem still exists.

Stop the crossing of those, who of course simply want a life a freedom, from coming here without us knowing who they are!!!

Unfortunately, liberals DO dismiss that inconvenient truth. Now, the regular person, and American who might not be an expert on any one subject, is dismissed as either twisting the truth, or not being able to support the facts - even though dates, events and decisions are clearly there to research for themselves - and when that is what is confronted between a liberal and a conservative, the real truth is dismissed for the lie.

Many Americans have already been awake. These are the people who work hard for few gains, yet are extremely happy. They live their lives based in their principles and values. It isn't that they weren't paying attention either. The direction the country was headed in made them notice. Now however, what is being presented as reform, bailouts, cap and trade must be paid for as well. Most Americans KNOW that all people must live within their means. If America isn't living within its means, how can we afford all that is being discussed and about to be made into law? Of course people are waking up to these things because they don't make sense especially if we can't pay for them!!

What's not laughable is that this is right around the corner because it is already happening within our Medicare framework. This program was intended for those who worked hard, paid into a system that they expected to receive the benefits from. Currently, this system has expanded to include those who are deemed disabled and can no longer work for financial gains. This is the current system that is broken, yet fixing this system is not the priority. How can something that was broken from the beginning be fixed now?
More than one person has already encountered the failures of the Medicare system. Isn't that one person too many already? If Americans believe that even one life has value, then how can any American support Healthcare Public Options of any kind? NO ONE should fall through the cracks!!

I am with you on that!! The absurdity of these peoples' statements (those who were "elected" to represent is an affront to any sane persons' intelligence and humanity. When you speak of law, these laws we've had to be living within have been a framework that hasn't made us free, it's inhibited MOST of us. We were never meant to live within the letter of the law - how does life live within a letter of men? The law we adhere to is the law of God, is it not?__What has happened in America must stop. It must end. People, free people, as our Founding Fathers told us, are expected to have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. While those words may not be the "Holy Trinity" as people understand that concept, but those words are without a doubt the three fundamental concepts that make humans free.
