Deputies tracked with the K-9 but were unsuccessfull. K-9's are not the cure all that is portrayed on television. What else would he expect the deputy to do?

And exactly how is the officer supposed to know that there was no emergency and no danger? You are trying to close the doors in their face and they have no way of knowing who is inside and what is going on.

Lost to the world? Really? Its all about choices. He made a choice to break into houses and paid the ultimate sacrifice. He's not a puppy who ran away from home, he was a felon.

Although I don't agree with what the homeowner did, don't try and make the burglar a saint.

You have the luxury of knowing him, the homeowner doesn't. The homeowner has now way of knowing what his intentions were.

I'm not defending the homeowner. If your friend was shot in the back while he was running away, that is not self defense. The homeowner should be held responsible for his reckless behavior. Your friend was no longer a threat and shouldn't have been shot at. But, your friend is committing a felony and when when you boil it down, if he hadn't been breaking into houses he'd still be alive.

I bet you wouldn't think he was a "good person" if he had broken into your house. And I'd be willing to bet that this isn't the first criminal act your good friend committed. He didn't deserve to die, but he sure wasn't a saint.

I bet you blame the officers. Here's some advice: If you hadn't gotten into a fist fight with your adult brother the cops wouldn't have been called. Take some responsibility.

If this is indeed you, Lisa, as a police officer you have my condolences.

Several of the officers in my department were outside your house when your son came out and offered them coffee in his PJ's. Detectives with decades of experience; that have seen horrific things; started weeping like children.

God bless you and the kids. We will never forget Tim's sacrifice.
