Their similarities are the problem. They're too similar to be interesting. Cheerilee is an outgoing mare who could actually help him come out of his shell. They balance each other out.

A couple has to be interesting, not just cute.

Big Mac and Cheerilee balance each other out. Marble is way too similar to him for their relationship to be interesting

We don't know that. Marble could simply be nervous around stallions. Crush does not equal love. Besides, they're too similar to be a good couple.

Moondancer had traits that Twilight didn't. Marble didn't have anything that Fluttershy didn't.

Having family is not a personality trait.
You didn't actually describe any differences there. She didn't do anything that wasn't nice or polite.
Moondancer was a heck of a lot more abrasive than early Twilight, so that comparison doesn't work.

I really want to like her, but I need something that makes her unique like Maud and Limestone.

Has anyone found a way in which Marble is different from early Fluttershy? Please? I really want to like her, but I can't if she's just a carbon copy!

Said new shy pony should still be different in SOME WAY, instead of lazily copy-pasting early Fluttershy.

Too much shyness makes it feel like the writers are being lazy, relying on cuteness instead of actually having a personality.
