Hmmm... the tank turret analogy may be better than you think; like turret armor, isn't the skull much thinner on the sides and back? Since you aren't always going to be taking frontal shots, the .22LR (and my favorite choice, the .30 M1 Carbine, despite its light, RN bullet) are going to have a much better chance if the skull is indeed thinner on the back and sides...

You hit the nail on the head, SQT; its well-documented that hundreds, maybe thousands of young men switched from Communist Red Brigades to Nazi Brownshirts and vice versa, sometimes more than once, during the late 20's and early 30's. The idealogy was irrelevant, they simply wanted to lash out at the world and society, and to do so from within the comfortable cocoon of an all-embracing and protective movement within which they didn't have to think for themselves, they merely needed to obey...
