Right, but sending mushrooms to "Ahnold" after he made a comment about something being hallucinatory isn't also in poor taste?

How one-sided. Twisted was right; Obviously Steinberg doesn't know how to get as good as he gives, apparently.

When you're in a rut and need to solve a big problem, do you keep yourself from trying to be lighthearted and joking at times?

"More Liquor sales=more DUI arrests meaning $$$$." --- How so? You DO realize that most people who drive drunk, do so from a convenience store after a beer run or from a bar, right? Also, DUI arrests only make "$$$$" when the ja*koffs pay their outstanding fines, which rarely happens.

Um. I might be naive, but what the hell is j*** supposed to be? lol I've tried to figure out all the "impolite" words that get censored on these boards and I can't figure out what word you're trying to imply.

How do you figure?

Las Vegas (the strip) sells alcohol all hours of every day, and their alcohol related deaths rate is lower than Seattle's. As a matter of fact, so is their rate of DUI's and DV's. You'd think that the ability to buy and consume alcohol 24/7 would make that rate higher, wouldn't you?

There are already several liquor stores open on Sundays... They're just adding 9 more to that list is all. This story is about raising the taxes, not about the availability. They're opening more liquor stores, and 9 more will be open on Sundays and certain holidays. Trust me, "drunks" already know where these other stores are, so this isn't something new for them. The higher tax will most likely only affect the pricier booze to begin with. 12 year old scotch will go from $40 a bottle to around $50 probably. There aren't that many "drunks" and wife beaters buying the high priced stuff to begin with.

Just the opposite, you'd think. You gotta be high or drunk to make half the decisions she signs on...

GAME has a point. Most of the people who will see such a drastic difference will be the ones who are willing to fork out $40-$50 for a fifth of alcohol. Beer and wine prices won't go up too much, and most of the people who drink to excess and then go out cruisin' won't be buying the higher end bottles.

This is also going to start raising prices in our local bars and taverns. Your usually $7 cocktail will probably be upwards of $9 or $10 now. I wouldn't be surprised to see a tad less public drinking going on, or more beer and wine drinking, with people avoiding the harder stuff; And people will more than likely be saving up their money for special barbecue and family occasions and the like, then splurge at the liquor stores that are going to be on every street corner.

Also, I kind of like the idea of them selling certain seasonal liquors at the mall. The comment in the article about it being sold right next to "photos with Santa" is the reporter's way of giving this story a more sinister spin. It's going to be sold in the specialty seasonal stores that pop up in malls around October and November, next to their salmon, cheese, sausage and cracker packages. I wouldn't mind seeing a nice bottle of spiced port being sold there. One less trip for me, when doing my holiday shopping.

Sin taxes are always going to be a major P.I.T.A.

You can get away with shooting someone if they're in your house, currently in the middle of robbing you. Of course, if they flee your house (even with your things) when they see your weapon, then you can't shoot them or you're in big trouble. Basically, if you yell out that you have a gun and that you'll shoot them if they don't leave, and they remain there, robbing you or threatening you, you can shoot them.

I'd question that sheriff then. A lot of times, a cop may try to put you off, in hopes that your stuff isn't that important. It's a lot of paperwork, a lot of hassle, etc. But if you're adamant enough, a sheriff should at least check it out for you. If you knew who stole it, and had proof that the stuff was indeed yours, I don't see why he wouldn't. I'm sorry that happened to you. It's really not protocol.

In King County, just being in the middle of burglarizing and invading your home is a threat to your life and safety, according to the judges.
