I was wondering what you guys think, in light of the fact that we are all right-wing extremists, of the idea that we should write to Janet Napolitano and DEMAND to be put on the DHS watch list.

HARRY SMITH (so called reporter): Your report dovetails with a brand new report from the Department of Homeland Security claiming basically the same thing. And they say part of it is because of the election of President Obama. Other part of the responsibility goes to the deteriorating economy. Do these -- do you feel like your report and their report sync up?
MORRIS DEES (founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center): I think they sync up pretty much. The report from the Department of Homeland Security should be taken very seriously. What we've found in our intelligence project we've run for a number of years here is the political climate, the election of Obama, the immigration issues that have faced the United States over the last five to ten years, and now especially the economy, is almost causing a resurgence of what we saw in the days of Timothy McVeigh. Almost a militia movement that's being reborn in the United States.
SMITH: What do you think the potential is for this to translate into?
DEES: Well, I think that an American person is much more likely to be harmed by a domestic terrorist extremist group than by one from abroad. The death of the three police officers in Pittsburgh about two weeks ago was committed by a guy who shot these three officers, by a person who was an adherent to the hate websites and their belief that the United States government is evil, going to take away our rights, going to take away our guns. And also, we have to look at the returning veterans from -- coming back from Iraq, the war..."

I might take you up on your offer if things get worse, but I live in Georgia, which has really good gun owner protection laws also.

I agree with the first half of your comment.
But who are we telling these things? Who is going to hear if the media never reports it fairly, or at all. I can't tell you how many people I have invited to a tea party who have never even heard of them.
As far as the vote...we are dangerously close to having a one party system. With the census, ACORN, mass legalization of immigrants, the possibility of doing away with the electoral college, and the restructuring of congressional districts in 2010, conservatism will be relegated to permanent minority status.

Then we will die.
Read Patrick Henry. If you are only prepared to protest and rant and rave up to the point when you are threatened with repercussion, then go home now, because it won't make a difference.
You may not need to grab a gun and head to Washington, but you may need to stand in front of a tank until they shoot or drag you off.

btw, I am in Southwest Georgia

I am running into the same problem. A lot of people seem to agree with me on the problems, but are unwilling to take the next step and get involved.

I am currently working on a word.doc or similar format file printable mini constitution that can be printed and handed out or left behind at restaurants, etc (I am a starving artist and can't afford enough of the ones you can order) . I plan on having the general text of the document, the Bill of Rights highlighted, a few quotes by the founders, and some links to various to non partisan (as can be) constitutionally based websites, Heritage, this one, etc. Any site ideas would be appreciated.
I also plan to post online as a pdf.

Not to be cryptic or anything. I just think it is obvious that at some point the time will come when we have to stand up or die.
