You know, in those choice words, I think you just described the whole problem.

While Newt moved on from his past and has all the forward thinking, many people are unable to see him beyond that past, as well as many folks don't want anyone to see him for more than his past.

He's the absolute smartest person in the room wherever he goes, and recognized by everyone there as such, yet,....everyone is swayed by the "too much baggage" claim that seems to be perpetuated.

He has all the answers and solutions, yet everyone is afraid to let him live in the now.

You're exactly right. We didn't need McCain the first time, we certainly don't need one like him now.

There's a reason the establishment fights against newt; he knows their tricks, and he's smarter than they are.

Shaken up? I didn't see it bother him much, in fact, he explained it and agreed that he was wrong on the issues. That's much better than ol' rp did tonight.

Well what can I say, Newt was absolutely right on that. He is not going to garner everyone's support, nor is he really going to try when dealing with subjects like gay marriage and stuff.

We have bigger fish to fry right now, and he can't be distracted with such subjects. There are much greater pressing issues in our country to conquer than issues over marriage and gay rights. Kudos to Newt for having set priorities.

You know, I never see Newt tuck his tail between his legs and run when dealing with the media, he is always ready for them no matter what. In fact, he has been quite honest lately on what he was wrong on and has taken strides to admit it whenever asked about it.

If ron paul can't take the heat, he shouldn't have his followers dishing it out on others. Newt has plenty of baggage that he is taking shots across his bow on, so why can't ron paul deal with it like Newt is??

It's obvious that they are ron paul supporters from the dem side. They are attacking newt trying to gain more support to their pseudo-conservative candidate.

We just need to keep on shining a light on good ol ron paul's policies till everyone understands that he is no better than obama.

It's funny, she doesn't realize they are just using her to badmouth the other candidates and create strife. She really thinks they value her opinion on things.

I agree.

It's interesting watching Newt taunt Obama. I really think he would just KO Obama throughout a debate, much more than any of the other candidates.
