I could write this article but the sad, dysfunctional version. Like actual adults fighting over scoring minutiae to the point of near violence. Even after grandchildren arrived, my siblings would participate in the hunt, knocking over toddlers in their eagerness to win my father's approval, which of course was and is never forthcoming.

Eventually, I banded together with my one sane sister-in-law and we insisted on an adult-free Easter egg hunt. Some of the diehards try to transfer the competitive insanity onto their children, but mostly things are better. TL/DR, don't play board games with my family.

Let's Be Real: Mr. Bennett is kind of a shit dad.

Mrs. Bennett is a prophet! Nearly everything she predicts will happen, happens! That business with sending Jane off in the rain to Netherfield so she gets sick and has to stay and Bingley falls in love with her is a pro move.

Well yeah. I mean I'm mad, but I'm not blind. Toby Stephens (fans self) is a very good actor.

Well maybe Hollywood is just too polite to overtly tell someone they're ugly by casting them as Jane Eyre? So they cast babes and do this "we'll just put less concealer on them" business?

Oh ha ha, I do like to laugh.

I feel so fortunate re my awesome hospital birth. It was a teaching hospital and I loved being surrounded by all these ambitious, smart young people, mostly women. Everyone was very kind even though my own OB didn't make until the very end, I was fine. I was so old when I gave birth there was no question of any hippy stuff for me, which was kind of nice re not having to make any decisions or justify them to anyone.

My favorite resident OB was a wee little thing who wielded the forceps. My husband swears she was about to put her foot up on the bed for some traction, but surely not. Right?
