Remember back in January, just after Obama came into office and during the time of the G20 conference how a call was being made for a universal monetary system that did not involve the dollar? I said this at the time that there would be only one way that the United States would ever go for such a thing; and that would be if the value of our currency and our economy were so devalued that we would have no choice but to join in. With all of this "unsustainable" spending and plans for controlling CO2 and health care, which will end up hurting our economy more; one has to wonder if the Federal Government, under the guise of Progressivism, is actively trying to ruin the economy in the hopes of joining into a world system of government. After all according to President Obama, we are citizens of the world.

I don't believe the Republican party is truely conservative now; nor has it been for a long time. Instead we have Democrat and Democrat moderatly light. Neither one all that different from the other, only the speed at which they do it. If they really want a political party then why not the American Party which has been ignored for many years. We are the true voice of the people. All it takes to be a member of this prestigious party is to be an American. If our representatives actually were, then we wouldn't be having the problems we have today.

What really amuses me to no end while also annoying me to the same extent is the fact that many people like to attack those against them, not with arguments against their policy but attacks against their person. I have heard from many people that Rush is a drug addict and alcholic; but when asked what about his views they don't like I never hear an answer. I've been told that Republicans are just mad they lost the election and they are attacking Obama for the things that Bush left behind. I've been told Conservatives are racists, sexist, violent, unstable and ignorant; while not a single one of those accusers can even mention one policy or action. (Continued in reply)

We need to get rid of the over abundant salaries of the Congress and Senate, get rid of their ability to vote for their own raises, get rid of the clause that gives them 90% of their salaries every year for the rest of their lives, and truly get rid of their obscene medical coverage to honestly show them what regular people, the ones they forget on their quests for power, have to go through in their daily lives. All of their talk of socializing medicine and not a one of them would wait at district 12 medical center if that system was in place. It is for things like this that I truly believe that the constitution needs to have amendments put into it, that it needs to change.

The first thing that needs to be done is to have term limits on those members. Two terms each, for the simple reason that if the President is limited to two terms shouldn't all government officials. The second reason for this is to help limit the corruption of certain individuals. When someone can go into an official possition and through the act of re-election, never leave it; there comes a point where that individual no longer is part of the people he/she represents. They look after their own self interests and not those of their state. By limiting terms for elected officials it keeps that from happening and also keeps fresh people coming into office and bringing newer and better ideas with them. I am also for limiting Supreme Court Justices to a period of 10 years, or less if others feel it a better solution. No possition should be appointed for life since the prevailing thought involved with it becomes, "few die and none retire."

I have been for the calling of a constitutional convention for a few years now; especially since I became aware of the current policies of our legislative branch of government, as I got older. I do like the idea of a flat/fair tax instead of an income tax, though I would probably like to read up on it a bit more (any suggestions on where to look for good info?). Another thing that I really believe we need some changes with is with our congress and senate as it stands now. (Continued in replies sorry but it was longer than I am allowed)

President Obama is currently on his way to Mexico, then having a tour of Latin America. Before that he was in Europe and the Middle East. When is he going to be in DC doing his real job which is getting America back on its feet. He can't possibly try to solve the world's problems when he leaves his own country's unanswered.

I watched yesterday the rallies in CA, TX and GA and wondered if this was the beginning of something or perhaps an ending. I'm hoping its just the beginning. I heard on the news that Washington DC wasn't "aware" of anything going on around the country yesterday. That "news reporters" were outright hostile to people who attended. It seems that a lot of people are trying their best to ignore what the people are trying to do. With our country's government a detatched and seperate body from the people they are supposed to govern; they can't really be called our representatives anymore. They don't represent us, only their self interests. What would be apropos is going to Washington and delivering the representatives that no longer represent a pink slip. See if they can ignore that.
