when it first came out (day after) I was reading it on Reuters, the page literally refreshed as I was reading and have not been able to find it there since.

Absolutely no US media coverage on this and it happened last week. I kind of see the media's point, two Japanese nationals just Roman around Italy with some pocket change equal to the darn near the same amount Russia owns in US Treasury bonds is not news worthy.

I think Mr. Helmke could use a firearms safety course. One should not stare down any loaded weapon. Personally the AK is a little heavy to hump around for my tastes an AR-15 though for me is quite manageable.

What I find interesting is that I do not bring a firearm with me because I am worried about wild animals, always been the the two legged critters that have worried me.

forgot to add dark hair and dark skin. Timothy James McVeigh, Theodore Kaczynski, are just two that popped into mind, wait they didn't have anything to do with aviation. how about http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,132515,00.htm... the two Chechen women in September 2004

Correct me if I am wrong. The issue you are trying to discuss is, is it okay to use "torture"/enhanced interrogation techniques (EIT) to gain intel from the bad guys? Is it wrong to do so? What challenges and opportunities does it present from an ethical stand point?

Flipping the coin to the darker side. Slitting peoples throats, attacking civilians, causing more civilians and first responders to be burned to death, IEDs, VBIEDs, etc.

I have a different view/interpretation of what is defined as torture. Current techniques employed do not fit into my definition. The end goal needs to be clarified as to exactly what the intention is. It requires vigilance and determination so that the goal is not lost. The trick to it is the law of the land must be observed. It is my opinion that laws in question may not have the jurisdiction the public perceives to be applicable. The distinctions used in the classification of those subjected to EIT directly impacts the applicability of the law. If the classification is changed, so do the rules.

the link to the story and the math behind it. Typical abuse of statistics by politicians to spin the web.
