They had it and I took advantage of it. But the doctor recommended that every other year I get them dilated.

I'm heading to eye doc in 30 minutes. I really hate getting my eyes dilated. They stay dilated for days and my eyes are sun-sensitive to begin with. So I'm dreading this appointment.

Years ago - when I was in my mid to late 40s - I lied and told my doc that I was likely preggo to get out of the dilation. Some study said it wasn't safe. Those were the golden days when I could pull that off.

I don't think a woman who is almost 58 is going to be able to use that excuse today.

I'm a never lease person. It is the most expensive way to own a car. IMHO, a horrible financial decision, but I keep cars for at least 10 years.

I actually shouldn't say never lease. We did one once and expensed the lease to my husband's business. Even then, it was a terrible financial decision. We were going to buy the car off the lease and keep for just a few months while we figured out what car we really wanted next. We would have had to pay an additional sales tax as it is considered a new transaction.

All cash is the best way to buy a car. Up next is financing it. Lease is the worst way.

Who needs Ozempic when you have children spreading pestilence!

Bots, when someone says "You're full of it" today. You can say, "Not anymore!"

Stomach bugs are the worst.

I have friends in town and we are having dinner at a place just like this tonight with them. A martini just might fit the bill - despite being a Monday.

Damn the holidays (and visitors) are tough on the system.

It is beyond annoying. Especially when that label just sits on a desk for a few days while you keep checking to see where the damn package is.

We are doing the feast of seven fishes - Florida version. Basically seafood/fish tapas, many of which will be purchased in a prepared fashion.

1. Stone crab claws - will be purchased
2. Bacon wrapped scallops - will be purchased, but have to heat up
3. Red snapper verde (this I will make, but so damn easy)
4. Shrimp platter - will be purchased
5. Oysters - raw for most, but dadof3 will grill mine
6. Crabcakes purchased from Farmer's market - just have to heat up quickly
7. Spicy Italian Mussels (This I will make too, but easy as well)
