I repect your views on Libertarianism, but....
There is a genuine need for the Federal Government to control certain aspects of our nation. The classic example of beneficial, government control is our Military. Looking back to WWII, if it were not for our Federal Armed Forces, we would all be speaking German or Japanese right now. Separate, state militias just would not cut it in this day and age, no more than it would have cut it during our Revolutionary War.
Another example in which it makes more sense for the Federal Government to establish control is transportation. Can you imagine air travel without the FAA?
Areas in which the Federal Government should butt out include education, energy, and health care. They have no business getting involved in these matters, because they are best handled locally and by the free markets.

"Our health care system is broken," Obama said.
Pelosi: House taking up health care before recess
Great. Here they go again--cramming something down out throats that we do not need and cannot afford. Simply wonderful. Our elected officials in Washington never cease to amaze me.
What ever happened to the good old days when all we had to worry about was government bailouts and unecessary stimulus packages?

The entire Federal Government in Washington has become corrupt. We have a Democrat in the White House, a Democrat majority in Congress, and a left-leaning U.S. Supreme Court. This is like having a car with three gas pedals and no brakes!
The result of all this power, centered in Washington, will be bigger government (which we do not need) and uncontrolled spending (which we cannot afford).
Give me a break!
