"Having recently spent the worst 3 weeks holiday in Zimbabwe I can only have pity on the Zimbabwean people. From a tourists point of view, Zimbabwe has the most corrupt and thieving police force in the world. I did not feel at all comfortable with their persistent intimidation and threatening attitude to every black South African I saw up there.

We were fined $20 US at nearly every roadblock(and there are plenty on the main routes)The worst was when we were pulled over by 4 ZRP Thugs in Harare and fined $200 US (over R2200) for not stopping at a zebra crossing. We reported this at a Harare police station and the response was very laid back as if all of these excuses for human beings were in it together.

It is very clear that the election was stolen as stealing from people by Zanu PF and the “goon” police force is mandatory. Food and most things are approx 3 times more expensive than SA, so the so called private sector is in on it as well. It is my intention to alert every forum magazine of this most pathetic country in Africa. I heard the odd rumour etc about this police state but never imagined I would be treated like this as an African tourist. All I hope for is that every policeman that stole my money will be cursed for the rest of his life for ruining a hard earned holiday."

In the Zanu PF Mafia State formerly known as Zimbabwe, this type of behaviour by criminals masquerading as Government ministers is just the tip of a very large iceberg !

Mugabe is powerless to do anything about the endemic corruption that has totally destroyed the economy, because over the last 33 years he has been the biggest beneficiary of them all from it.

Mugabe knows that his fellow looters know this, and they know Mugabe knows that they know this ! Hence the impunity they all enjoy!

The World Bank in its just published year end report has insisted that it will not extend any financial assistance to Zimbabwe under the Highly Indebted Poor Country (HIPC) facility unless the country clears its arrears in excess of $6,1 billion. Absolutely the correct decision, as the last thing the West should be doing is giving these repulsive criminals any more western taxpayers hard earned dollars to loot !

Sadly, Zimbabwe, like Uganda, Congo, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan & a host of other African nations, continues to wallow in a time warp that dates back to more savage times when they belonged to what was then called the Dark Continent.

Despite 'liberation' time seems to have stood still in all of these devastated countries where the rule of law is a mockery, and mayhem, mis-governance and endemic corruption are a way of life.

I truly fear for the future of these regressing nations, since many are on the brink of disintegration. Zimbabwe, is but the tip of the self-destructing iceberg.

Treating leadership as a “right” or as family property is no longer a viable strategy. Increasingly, it will no longer be acceptable to African people, thoroughly fed up with living in abject poverty while their leaders swan around like billionaires !

At last, a highly articulate and educated Zimbabwean politician who actually knows what he is talking about ! Speaks with a fluency, coherency and intelligence Mugabe can only dream about!

And he has more understanding of economics and finance than the Zanu PF and MDC leaders and front benches put together !

The only reason Mugabe's face was not used on his soon worthless 100 Trillion Zimbabwe dollar note, was because Zanu PF wanted to prevent the nation from being able to wipe their bums on his face when they used the notes for cheap toilet paper !

In 33 years what has Mugabe and Zanu PF ever done for the people ?

Nothing other than introduce oxen-drawn ambulances to 'improve' the nation's health in 2004!
