I am a part of the generation that is being spoken of. I am 24 and probably one of a very small margin that has a job, husband, a house, a two year old and one more on the way and worked to get everything we have without handouts from our parents. I am proud of my conservative upbringing, and even more proud of finding my own way in my political veiw through reading, studying and researching the history of our nation, which lead me to be a libertarian. I am atleast one "child" that stands with you, but come the 2010 election I will not be silent.

I should clarify that they didn't reveal names until they had asked a number of questions trying to "feel out" where I stood on certain issues then they pointed out that this candidate supported this issue, that candidate supported that issue and so on, then asked who I supported.

I have been polled twice one for the presidential election and one for the congressional election, and they try and lead you to a certain answer (both gave me the feeling that it was a democrat asking the questions). The last poll I did I remember the questioner was trying to get an idea of my veiw on things to make the arguement for the one candidate sound more appealing to me.

Thank you, Foreigner, for the facts. We stand behind you, Honduras and your right to defend your constitution, the current president of the US doesn't represent how we US citizens feel.

You are absolutely right,. I wasn't sure where I stood on this so I would like to thank you, lisboncaine, for putting it in perspective for me and everyone. I hope more people start to wake up and realize this isn't about political leaders' personal choices, it is about what these politicians are doing (or not doing) for this country.

I am not even a politician and just watching the news every night I need to go for a hike on my property to clear my head. If I were in his position I would "disappear" for a while myself.

"Beck is in fact a showman par excellence who draws on the passions of a small and alienated minority..."

It strikes me as funny that we are considered a "small and alienated" minority, I mean I know that I talk alot about people, mostly the conservatives that I know, who don't have a clue as to what is going on, but they still believe in the 9 principles and 12 values. The majority of people like us haven't been pushed far enough to raise a voice.

It's like would I tell my husband, who used to say "why should I care it doesn't effect me directly" Your right, it doesn't yet, but are you going to wait until it does? Then it will be too late.

The polls may show people are becoming concerned with the deficit, but the amount of people that still don't have a clue as to what is going on is unbelievable.

I come to work 3 days a week and by the time I get there everyother day and ask this person or that person what they think about Gerald Walpin, for example, they don't have a clue what is going on, one person didn't even know that there were tea party protests on tax day. She made the comment that people will start getting mad enough and having a Boston tea party, my jaw dropped and I was speechless. I would say it's safe to bet that's how most people are, and it is frustrating, annoying and hard to keep calm while letting these people know that I am not just insane and way too involved in politics, this is real.
