My relationship with my parents is one of contention and distrust, and they can't understand why! Do I need to forgive them of this and just move on, or should I report the WHOLE LOT of them and let the chips fall where they may?

My parents KNEW of the molestations with the 'others' before me, and yet moved us right into the house with this pervert! How can you respect and honor someone that cares so little about you, and your well being? Isn't one of the first responsibilities of a parent to PROTECT your child, not make them the 'sacrificial lamb"?

I live with this everyday! The one thing that I will never forget, nor forgive, is the fact that my parents knew about the ATTEMPTS, and the REPEATED acts of molestation, and did nothing! It was only as an adult that I sought help and counseling (counseling helped, but there are still 'scars') - they (my parents) could have cared less (I was told to "Just keep my mouth SHUT!"), and they still don't! I feel that they are just as guilty as the molester, since they knew, did nothing, and the molestation continued! That was when I decided that I had to stand up for myself, speak out, and tell the molester - "HANDS OFF!", right in front of my parents!

As the survivor of a child molester, I can tell you - they never 'recover,' are never 'cured', and will continue with their abuse and molestation as long as they roam free. This person didn't only molest me, but his four step daughters as well....their mother turned a blind eye, buried her head in the sand, and continues to do so! I suppose that there are other incidents of abuse and molestation that I don't know about too. None of his female relatives want to be alone with him around, and they are adults! He is just plain 'CREEPY!" He has never been held accountable for his actions, never charged or prosecuted, and still is a free man, to continue "whatever."
