I'm going to miss this so much. I'm not a prolific commenter (I've been trying to make up for that since the closing announcement) but I read The Toast everyday and read pretty much every comment. Often I check the link roundup before work with my coffee and then again once I get into work to see everyone's comments.

Everyone here has been so wonderful when I have needed support or advice. Next week I am giving notice at my job after over 9 years and going back to school to follow the dreams that younger Chel gave up because the people around her said they were impractical. Part of me is not sure how I am going to make this transition without all you lovely people.

Thank you Nicole, Mallory, and Nikki for building this community.

I will miss you all in this place but will hopefully see you on Twitter and Slack. I guess I have to learn how to use Slack now, don't I?

I always request a king size bed on business trips. Last trip I was upgraded to a room with a giant soaking tub. I went to Lush that afternoon and bought a bath bomb.

I was blocked on Instagram by a random person. I had followed them because they posted a lot of cute cat pictures and Instagram knows I'm into that. I don't think they are famous at all. Fortunately for me there are plenty of other cats on the internet.

My previous boss would always stay in hostels when he traveled. I learned this when I mentioned I was going to Santa Monica for a weekend and he told me how nice the hostel there is. He is in his mid-40s and was making six figures. He was just cheap.

I've noticed in general that people who have been with our company longer get bent out of shape when things change to give new benefits. Especially if it something that they have no use for themselves at this point.

I have had to go to museums with current co-workers several times in the last year in the name of "team-building" and the only thing I can think of that would be worse is repeating the experience once I am free of them.
