Do you ever notice how many of the ones that are thumbed down in these conversations are civil in thier argument, respectful, and there is an element of truth to the argument.. the response is name calling, or personal type attacks... I take it as meaning, they know what i say is correct and they hate it. which brings out a hateful response. :-)
Well i suppose if i'm gonna get thumbed down... f**K it... might as well make it worth it... Why is it that everyone lays down on their a.s.s expecting everyone to else to foot thier bill. when some bust thier tail to make it.. actually do and are considered s.c.u.m? Thats B.ull.s.h.i.t... pure and simple. Then when we try to help you learn how to win too.. all you do is call us names, ridicule and villify us.. if thats the attitude we're gonna get, you're on your own.. good luck to you. And enjoy being a slave to the system I guess its true, offer someone just enough to get by and convince them that they cant make it on their own without you and hard work is never gonna yield them anyhthing, you truely DO own them forever...
he's actually smart enough to realize that if he doesnt do something to attract the really successful businesses to our state, they're gonna locate elsewhere and we won't have those high paying jobs. Picture this. lets say your sole purpose for existing is to grow as many carrots as you can every year. Just to be here you have to give the state of iowa 60% of your carrots. yet 2 states over you only have to give that state 15 or 20% of your carrots. which state are you going to grow your carrots in? now lets say in order to grow your carrotts you have to hire people. You're really good at growing carrots, so you pay your carrot growers really well, by paying them alot of carrots for their hard work. Well, you are 2 states over since they don't take as many carrots from you, all your carrot growers are from that state... and us in iowa have to eat spinach instead.. Yet those carrot growers 2 states over have all the carrots they could ever want. for the record, spinach s.u.c.k.s. i'd rather have a carrot
I think branstad did the right thing. Before you all call me some big rich company fat cat, let me tell you that I make well under 45k a year. last year my best year was 27k. I would rather have the opportunity to get a better job thtat going to potentially pay me more money in the long run, by making Iowa attractive for them to come here and need to hire people, than just have the government give a bigger tax refund than i paid in to start with. The Earned Income Credit is nothing more than welfare or a handout, you'll never build wealth from the EIC. You build wealth by increasing your income, in a state where its going to tax any companies that come here out the wazoo.. guess where the high paying jobs will be... NOT here.
If this manager wasn't running the business in an ethitcal way (ie not paying employees, like the story said). Then I can't blame Flav for pulling his name out of that deal, especially if this manager is involved in money laundering. Thats illegal. I find it interesting that it was stated that workers werent being paid under Flav's reason for pulling out, while the other guy just claimed that Flav was a fraud trying to get rich off his ideas. It sounds to me like Flav invested in this guy's business and seen that it wasn't going to be a good investment and did like any other investor in a bad deal would do, get out of the bad deal before the ship sinks completely.
I don't know if i trust this trump guy yet. He talks good, but so did Obama, and look where that got us. Food Prices thru the roof, for starters. Being forced to buy health insurance which i do NOT want come next year or year after that. Gas Prices at or near record levels, (gas hit its previous record in June of 2008 at 3.89, 3.99 and 4.09 a gallon (The flood damaged BP station on First Avenue reminds of that). I remember everyone blaming bush for it. Now, fast forward 3 years. Gas is right now at 3.67, 3.77 and 3.87 a gallon. I dont hear ANYONE blaming obama, yet obama is quoted as saying "5 dollar a gallon gas, get used to it, and trade up for a more fuel effiecient car (pushing for the Chevy Volt). at 40,000 dollars, and 40 miles per charge, who in their right mind would buy one of those? Obama gotta go...
the sad thing is the 250 grand for the consultant is cheap considering the potential cost of the lawsuit the city has to deal with at some point when someone gets killed by a train at a railroad crossing. This is a stupid idea. Granted loud train horns suck, but... the thing is designed to keep you alive.
This is not a smart idea (state takeover). A better idea would be to leave the existing setup in place, but to create a department that offers some oversight for mental health as well as creates a set of standards that are enforced to make the mental health system more consistant. set up a regional oversight office (say like 6 for the state, split em up by area code if they want, i dont care how they set up the regions) with inspections and licensing every year or something. But the state should not out right run it.
I'm sure they'll have some kind of I'm here" signal that must be present coming off the mileage recording module. all ya gotta do is capture that signal and identify it.. then build a circuit that similates or mimics that signal, wire it in place of the module that figures the tax, and the rest of the car won't know any different.
that trick dont work no more.. anything made in the last 20 years will actually give a positive speed reading on the speedometer and the odometer adds miles even in reverse.
