The only thing about a Convention I worry about is the representatives that will be present for it. Every single one of them, with few exception, is dedicated to detroying the constitution. If Amendments are proposed who puts them forward? And the inevitability of ratification of anything propsed no matter how absurd is a looming spectre. Extreme caution would be advisable with this idea...(I'm not disagreeing with you though).

LOL, it's bigger than Louisiana (where I'm originally from), but not so big as yours-the roads are just horribly convoluded. I thank you for your honesty nova, I'll think about contacting Von, until then a book for you to read while you're reading the 5000 Year Leap: The Constitutional Principles of Thomas Jefferson, published in 1953. You can probably find it at your library, it's been out of print for a while. Good luck to you in all your endevours~ Cato

Repeal the 17th amendment, that'll take care of the US senate, then impose term limits of the US House.

Interesting proposition you have there, and it seems that I am one step ahead of you ;) Unfortunately my employer has told me that to make a run for office I'd have to resign. Currently I'm doing some checking into the legality of this company policy, but I don't expect it to go anywhere. As it stands right now, I'm doing what I can on this end to push for a repeal of the 17th first to fix the constitutional damage that has occurred. The trouble with leaders is the power they wield corrupts them and I'm not above corruption. There is also the added problem of proximity to the action I'm a whopping 4hours from the seat of power in my State- so would I accept your nomination, possibly. Will I lead? If prodded, there would have to be a "ground swell" as you say from other 9/12'ers- remember power corrupts and I'm not sure (right now) if the 9/12er's are ready for what needs to be done and the relentless, unified push that needs to occur.

Did Regan reassert States Rights, Federalism, overturn the Federal income tax? No, No, and No. The States stayed subserviant and the government continued to grow. I've already written the RNC about these kinds of empty platitudes and rhetoric attempting to pacify everyone by insulting the intellegence of individuals. They're attempting to pull Republicans back into the 'big TENT' of the RNC and I tell you what , I'm tired of being bought off and lied to.
