I will not mislead you into believing that your particular Congress"person" or Senator will read your letter. But someone on their staff will at some point and when they get enough of them they do take notice. They know that there are many more people who think the same way as the person writing the letter and that their opinin represents a much more serious block of voters. They know that these people will vote and are not just reacting to a spur of the moment urge. Encourage everyone you know to do this and when the President, your Senator or Congress"person" sees this they take notice. In the mean time stay informed and do not become discouraged. Remember to act at every opportunity. Do not just engage in endless chatter.
Speak and Speak loudly and clearly. All of the comments here are a good source for expression but expression without action is just noise. Yes, we are loosing our freedoms at a pace unequaled in history. If all of those here woud become participants, if possible, in the "Tea Parties" it does send a message. The more often they occur the more the message will be heard. BUT, there is one sure way to get a politicians attention and I know this from past experiences in dealing with politicians. It is really pretty simple, Write a letter. Do not just send an email or a sign an online petition. Write a personal letter clearly stating your position in as few words a possible and put YOUR signature on it. Sounds old fashioned but it is effective.
