I concur. The overarching storyline of the entire series so far has been pretty unchanging and blah. This is the sort of radical changes that add a new dynamic to the show.

If nothing changed, than the show would get really boring pretty fast, and the writers wouldn't have much to work with in season 4. And, considering all that's been revealed, that the fears of Twilight leaving her friends are squelched and we shouldn't have to worry about worst-case-scenarios because the writers of the show have, so far, showed us that they are capable of doing their job, I don't see what's wrong with Twilight getting wings.

It seems like the gut reaction to change is always "NO, KEEP IT THE WAY I'M USED TO!", but we have to embrace change. Who knows, maybe it will turn out awesome? And this will be sure to keep us occupied all the way through the pony drought of 2013.
