Best show this year was opening night of the Cars tour here in Seattle. First tour in 20 years and man were they on.

As we speak I am heading to the Guns N Roses show, with Duff McKagan's band Loader opening. By all accounts, Axl is in top form and this show should be my Best Concert of 2011, if not the decade. Lots of speculation that Duff will join during the encore...

In northern Minnesota we called them tenners. Bumpers were the most fashionable form of tenners - navy blue cotton with white soles and laces.

And you're right - tenners only unless you lived way out in the country on a lake, whereby snowmobile boots or Sorrel's were allowed.

Minnesota girl here - grew up watching the Vikings every Sunday with my dad, very fond memories of Tarkenton and Chuck Foreman (I shed a tear when my daughter came home with #44 on her soccer jersey) and all the glory and pain of the 70's.

The thing about Moss was you didn't want to like him, you didn't want him to make that impossible catch, just because he was so.... MOSS. But then when he did make every impossible catch, inside you said "that's my boy." But never out loud.

Rioting is more than pretty dumb - these hooligans are probably interlopers from Tenino who got cut off at a dive bar on Granville and can't afford a room at the Motel 6 so are hoping for free lodging at local jail.

Granville is mayhem, but settling down now. Tear gas, burning cars, brawling, windows being broken. A few being taken away in ambulances. Can't help but ask "this is VANCOUVER?"
