"5 freedoms you'd lose in health care reform
If you read the fine print in the Congressional plans, you'll find that a lot of cherished aspects of the current system would disappear.
NEW YORK (Fortune) -- In promoting his health-care agenda, President Obama has repeatedly reassured Americans that they can keep their existing health plans -- and that the benefits and access they prize will be enhanced through reform. A close reading of the two main bills, one backed by Democrats in the House and the other issued by Sen. Edward Kennedy's Health committee, contradict the President's assurances."

From the WSJ
"There's a reason the Obama health care plan is being rushed through Congress this summer -- because the American people would likely never support it if given time to absorb and understand such fine print. If the union carve-out isn't sufficient to excite public anger, wait till you hear about the version of the Obama plan prepared by Senator Edward Kennedy, which would specifically exempt Members of Congress from many of its provisions."

"CBO also indicates that the federal government would "incur additional costs of about $12 billion" to pay for low-income households' rebates and the energy tax credit. These costs would fall on households either through higher taxes or reduced government services. Yet again, "CBO did not distribute those costs across households."
On the question of job creation under Waxman-Markey, CBO concludes that some industries and certain regions of the country "would experience substantially higher rates of unemployment and job turnover as the program became increasingly stringent. That transition could be particularly difficult for individuals employed in those industries (such as the coal industry) or living in those regions (such as Appalachia)."
Heritage actually found that by 2035, Waxman-Markey would destroy 2.5 million jobs.
But energy tax supporters like Media Matters and the Center for American Progress gloss over this reality by only emphasizing job creation under Waxman-Markey."

2012 election can not come fast enough
"June 8 (Bloomberg) -- I’ve finally figured out the Obama economic strategy. President Barack Obama and his team have been having so much fun wielding dictatorial power while rescuing “failed” firms, that they have developed a scheme to gain the same power over every business. The plan is to enact policies that are so anticompetitive that every firm needs a bailout. "

How Washington Rations
ObamaCare omen: a case study in 'cost-controlTry to follow this logic: Last week the Medicare trustees reported that the program has an "unfunded liability" of nearly $38 trillion -- which is the amount of benefits promised but not covered by taxes over the next 75 years. So Democrats have decided that the way to close this gap is to create a new "universal" health insurance entitlement for the middle class.
Such thinking may be a non sequitur, but it will have drastic effects on the health care of all Americans -- and as it happens, this future is playing out in miniature in Medicare right now. Desperate to prevent medical costs from engulfing the federal budget, the program's central planners decided last week to deny payment for a new version of one of life's most unpleasant routine procedures, the colonoscopy. This is a preview of how health care will be rationed when Democrats get their way.

A Senator Offers Two Faces in Health Care Debate
If the Senate Republican leader, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, has his way, two faces of the debate over American health care reform will be Shona Holmes of Ontario, Canada, and Bruce Hardy, of Ruislip, England.
Both Ms. Holmes and Mr. Hardy were denied care under their government-run health insurance programs. Ms. Holmes needed surgery for a cyst in her brain that was threatening her eyesight, and Mr. Hardy wanted an expensive new cancer drug. Mr. McConnell is effective in framing policy debates on the Senate floor, and with comprehensive health legislation now at the center of attention in Congress, he has used his morning speeches this week to talk almost entirely about that issue. And he has already made his top goal clear: preventing any sort of public health insurance “option” that is supported by President Obama and many other Democrats, but that Mr. McConnell says would simply lead to a totally government-run insurance system.

"The latest evidence that government can't run a health care system can be found in our Northwest corner. There, the administrator of the Washington State Health Care Authority will decide this week how to throw 36,000 Washingtonians out of the government's health insurance program that subsidizes the working poor.
The agency is looking at five options that will slash program participants from 100,000 to 64,000 due to the state's knotty budget problems. One possibility is a lottery. Other options include purging the rolls of those who've been in the system the longest and lowering the income level at which participants become eligible. Making the situation even more dire is the fact that there are 25,000 applicants waiting to be enrolled."

If we do not drill the Russians will........Russians may not be "Greeniacs" but they are smart enough to drill for oil and gas that democrats won't let us get. While Obama dreams of windills and 3 wheel cars that go 25 mph that run on compost....the Russians will help themselves to our oil and natural gas.
From IBD
"If we don't drill, the Russians will. Situated over on the eastern end of the Chukchi Sea, they have global ambitions of dominating the energy trade and no qualms about muscling in on the U.S.
Already, undersea volcanic activity has melted much of the Arctic ice cap and enabled more exploration than in the past. The U.S. has as much claim to the region as the Russians, but only the Russians seem to be taking advantage of the geological bounty. "
