wtf is this guy talking about... this is like the definition of TLDR.

Regardless,
" * congo-lining
* mutli-assaults in general
* multi-assaults using vehicles"

Are explicit ways that you can avoid exactly what you are describing.

that would be great! bat reps like these really set 3plusplus apart from the rest.

Yeah, adding 1 AV 12 tank would have made the list SO much better. How noob of you kirby!

Wayyyyy too much reposting going on here. Please remove him unless he posts something original. All he does is copy and paste poor articles half a week old from his own blog.

Or at least make him pay to advertise on your blog.... Because self promotion is all he's doing.

Great review. I love how you sprinkle a little hope on the units teetering on the edge of usefulness. Like storm ravens. and lynchguard. blast you for making me cave into my whacky list cravings!

I think that there are two substantial reasons.

1) terminator loganwing is particularly top heavy. - with logan and a librarian, its like 200pts more top-heavy.

2) Once you start increasing costs for mass terminator armor, you actually get worse at receiving assaults due to lack of bodies and points for counter assault units, because those are typically the last things purchased.

In a pure shooting game, terminator logan wing will probably perform just fine. They'll be much more squishy in assault (to anything with power weapons) though, compared to normal Loganwings above average CC capability.

I agree however, it IS certainly worth testing, but I'm not holding my breath for a bunch of 2plus /5plusplus backed by long fangs.

That said, i think there is certainly a great argument for more than just the cyclone having TDA in the unit. essentially paying 15 points to go from a 18pt wg in power armor to a 33pt TDA body lets you bounce a few extra kraks here and there, and this is where id spend my time investigating. Perhaps not 4 PA and 1 TDA in a unit. maybe we could see huge dividends in 3/2 or 2/3, giving us a bit more troop resiliency to fix what I find to be the achilles heel in my builds. It certainly gets around death wing's main problem of Anemic shooting. It increases our ranged anti-infantry with storm bolters, while not sacrificing attacks for combat. Well, we're losing an attack per terminator, but are now ignoring armor.

In a loganwing army with six troop slots, it would cost 90/180 points to up our PA/TDA ratio by 1 or 2, respectively - and I think thats a pretty darn good buy in its own right, and even more of a worthwhile investment into our scoring units.

C or D, wolf guard needs fist or claw though, preferably. I like the fist for tanks, and then i don't feel like i need meltabombs.

so,

E) 5 scouts, meltagun, wolf guard with combi melta and fist

Well if youre going for scouts, just drop a lone wolf (you'll have to for slot space anyway) and there you go. Fifth troop doesn't need a pod or transport, can hop in a long fang razorback once the game starts.

I'm with wisdom here. not nearly the same effect.
