When I checked early yesterday morning, there were 71. Hard to believe he was able to adopt out so many in a day but maybe some were adopted, and perhaps other rescue groups stepped in to help out.

Here is the petfinder link to Mikey. There is nothing in his profile that speaks of his illness. And no description of any of the animals personality. Please be careful when adopting a pet that you get as much information as you can before you find out they are not a good match for your household.

I'm not familiar with this particular shelter. But a 12 year old dog with cancer that needs an operation, that he's not getting? That poor animal is likely living in pain, I bet a really good vetrinarian would not suggest the poor animal suffer. Poor guy, more than likely abandoned, and left to suffer the rest of his days. Just terrible. I hope for the best for these dogs, and that some of people in CT can help somehow. Just think of how rewarding it would be for you!

Mental health issues are very hard to understand unless you are the one having them. My heart goes out to his family that are stricken with fear.
