No one wants torture or any kind, no one wants water boarding no one would want this to happen. If you are eleted to defend and protet this country and the people of this country can you say you would take anything off of the table to accomplish that. If you take anything off the table to defend and protect you need another job because your not doing what you were elected to do

Might be a bit early. We should look at who we don't want. That would be all of the members of congress that don't want to start changing what and how they are doing things. I firmly feel we need to clean house as best we an

We are all excited and thats good but jumping into thousands of things is not the best way. How or why would any of the politicians we need to have with us, be with us we have no credibility. We need to be credable. To them we are a mob and a small one at that. We are growing and getting strong. To them now we are just a small irritation they have no reason to give attention to. We can and will become a force but not in a few weeks. Its great to get fired up, and want to do things, but lets make sure we are doing the right things. I have read many great things in these comments the past several days. I am convienced there are some great leaders out there that need to step up and get us started the right way. I think our first step is to grow and keep the suggestions comming. Keep the pressure on your state leaders by letting them know we are here and in a short time a force that is credible and one they should know holds their future political desires in their votes

pg 2 The people would have a real say in who gets the job. Jury pool are picked from voters. In the long run parties would have little to do with it the individual would be picked by what they put on their application just like any job and in this caes we the employer ( the people ) would really decide who gets the job. and not the machines I know it wouldn be that simple. There is a lot of great minds out there. I've been reading a lot of your comments. Pick this apart or add to it if it has merit but don't pooh, pooh it without thinking about it. It may end up as nothing but another idea may spring from it.

PG 1 Maybe this is a stupid idea but I'll throw it out any way. What if our Representives and Senators were not elected but appointed to their position by the state from which they come. Those wishing to serve in one of those positions would submit their names. Then a board would picked to review those individuals( applicants ) and select a list 50 or 75 names The final selection would be from every day citizens picked in a way simular to jury duty . They would pick their choice or choices by a vote. First money would not be the biggest factor. The press would not play a role in the process, no negative adds.

CONSERVATARIAN:
1. Term Limits for all representives and senators Don't settle for argument we have elections that is term limits
2. Limit the time an individual can chair or serve on one commitee.
3. Marriage is between a man and a women anything else is a contract
4. Take a real look at the flat tax
5. Take a look at the perks for our elected officials see if we can bring them into the real world.
6. The Speaker of the house and the leader of the Senate shold be a two year term only. we need fresh minds all the time.

Change is not enough, change means nothing we've all seen change. Change is only a different person doing things the same old way But what we need ia a "new way" a new way to make our government work. I've read many of your remarks we have smart smart people. Everyone put your thinking hats on a find new ways of making our system work You can just start throwing ideas and get others to offer their ideas.

I firmly beileve most of our party leaders like to keep us against each other. It's funny that most , when they are eleted are not rich but when they finally leave office most ( over 89% ) are worth millions. All the time they are in office they make money. Any con man will tell you you need to keep someone attention on one had while you pick their pocket with the other. We need to make it less profitable for them. We need term limits, we need limits set on how long they can work on commitees in government etc. Maybe we don't even need elections for our Representives and Senators but appointments within the state by a board who reviews applications from those who want to serve. No I don't have the answers, but like all of you I have a lot of questions and some ideas. They come up with great sounding things like, "we have term llimits they're called elections" and we buy it

Over the past many years I feel that both parties can share the blame for what has happened in this country. One party cannot make everything right So like it or not we are in a fight together. When interviewed Over 75% of the people in this country believe in drilling offshore for oil. I don't think anyone is against othe energy sources. Almost 70% of the people are for nuclear power. Everyone wants to pay less tax. You can keep going on and on and find most americans believe in the same things, and want the same things. Yet our leader in congress see things completely different.
