No worries! "Ship-brig" is hilarious enough to last me a few days. ^_^

Hooray! I just found I can actually go!!! I am so excited!!

But knowing me, I'll probably shyly walk up to the table, buy a poster without making eye contact, and then run away. But at least I can say I WAS THERE! ;)

I think I might have to agree with some of the other folks who've commented here. I think I just didn't like this particular coloring job. I've enjoyed the color every time Kris has done it (for instance, I think the banner at the to of the page looks great).

So... I'm not against color. But I will admit that I was really excited when I saw that today's was back to the grayscale style. :)

I'd be curious to hear what Kris thinks of the colored strips, actually.

I am naturally biased towards grayscale --the only color change I've loved immediately in a comic thus far was PVP's. But that doesn't mean I won't like it eventually... So I'm going to try really really hard to keep my yap shut until I've had a couple weeks to get used to it. :)

Her name is Meridian? How did I not realize that you'd named her MERI HOLIDAY. Holy crap Straub. LOL.

I saw the XKCD comic and wondered why everyone seems to hate Papyrus. That was my favorite font when I was designing stuff in highschool.

Wait... OK maybe I understand why everyone seems to hate Papyrus.

The end!

Gotham narrow? Now I'm curious.

It's kind of odd how little I know about fonts. Although in college I did work a number of late nights in the computer labs surrounded by art students trying to finish up their font design projects. Which I thought was interesting, but apparently not interesting enough to ask and/or Google for further information.

It is definitely a neat time to be alive. For me it's not necessarily a matter of thinking that "we're on the cusp of greatness", so much as an appreciation for the timing. I've had the pleasure of seeing the technology I was in awe over while watching Star Trek as a kid, become technology I can use in real life as an adult. It could have just as easily not worked out that way.

Here's hoping that human imagination in storytelling keeps its pace of being 2 steps ahead of technological innovation, so future generations can enjoy similar moments in time. :)

Ok, that seems like a more reasonable concern. Yes, it does take a certain kind of reader to get into Starslip. Not everyone wants to have to keep up on a comic on a regular basis to understand what's going on. I know plenty of folks who don't like reading novels either for similar reasons -- it takes too long.

I'm sorry if I seemed a bit harsh. But that "he sold out" argument really drives me nuts.

As an aside-- after working as a writing tutor for several years, I decided that I wasn't ever going to judge someone based on their grammar, so no worries there dude.
