Hap, what a wonderful letter. There's an entire generation who doesn't know about the anguish of the Vietnam war, and of the POWs and MIAs who never returned or were accounted for. The Cristmans were close friends, and I have Freddie's bracelet. In the years since his helicopter went down and he was seen for the last time, his mother and sister have passed on; his father, brother, niece and nephew carry the family on. But there's always, for me, a sad place where Freddie should be. He is missing from our lives, and indeed he is not forgotten.
Anyone want to have a Disney song sing-a-long?
Happy 95th Birthday to my Mom!
Just seeing what the button man will do. Even a few posts complimentary to the Post have been deleted. Plunk your magic twanger, froggy!
I hate to see examples of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.
I don't know of any reason to believe Mike Miller could have succeeded in preserving anything in the Trading Ford area, and I have no idea what " inter-governmental argument over who controls the future pedestrian bridge" you're talking about. The Davidson Commissioners voted uanimously to take on responsibility for the Wil-Cox Bridge once NCDOT is through with it, and NCDOT is cooperating with them. I've got a great photo of Pat Ivey 'n' me grinning ear-to-ear and hugging after the Davidson Commission meeting. Good looking man!
Out of the thousands of historic sites which need preservation, maybe you could go find one other than the Trading Ford to champion. We'll limp along without you.
As a matter of clarification, I'd like to point out that the person posting as Whgkid, despite the fact that it has been my longstanding email ID, is not me. And I make a point of not commenting on elected officials.
You've been mucking around in entirely too many petty issues to credibly say that! I'm interested in the preservation of our shared history. The only thing you're interested in is promoting yourself. You can't even come up with an ID without stealing from me.
