The only way to get this done, and it would take some proper review and wording before being presented, is to introduce the idea to the States. It would call for, as the Constitution lays out in Article V., "the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments...". This is where WE come in. Through petitions, phone calls, and direct visits to our state-level representation, WE push this in each of our States. Through our We Surround Them groups, we organize, and strike. By getting 34 states to call for a Convention, WE can address the Constitutional grievances and changes we would like to see made. Changes like the 16th, 17th Amendments gone, abolish the Fed (unconstitutional via Article I, Sec. 8 - do not have the power to delegate these powers) and a properly written and defined corruption law, I believe we can get this done. I would also recommend term limits of 2 terms max for Congress. Similar to the presidency, there would need to be an outline for those who were not elected. In other words, "and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once." That allows time to get things done, but keeps the incompetence from becoming a permanent entity. It also reduces the likelihood of corruption, since there is only so much that can be done for the members of the House in four years, where the corruption is most prevalent. Especially if the 17th Amendment were done away with.
We would need 38 to vote affirmative, but it CAN be done. By WE THE PEOPLE, placing the power back in the States (as it was intended), the corruption problems are back in local control through our local state representation, and thus WE THE PEOPLE can reinstate our voices.

The government of today would like to support the Fair Tax and leave the current taxes in place. So it is a requirement that WE make it difficult for them to increase taxes any more than they already are.

I created a quote that I cannot stop thinking about when I listen to Glenn and it is this:
"It is certain that our rights are inalienable and endowed by our Creator, but we cannot take them for granted. We must seek knowledge and understanding of our history and conduct ourselves so to honor and respect the name AMERICAN!"
I believe we have all taken our rights for granted in some shape or form and it is time we get back to the way not only our Founders intended, but God intended. WE must stand up and be counted. WE must make our voices heard. WE must stop yelling to our family, complaining to our friends, and whining to our colleagues. WE must stop, pull up our boots and make an effort. I believe very strongly in the old adage, "Talk is CHEAP!" WE must DO something. WE need to focus our efforts in a manner of finding solutions, instead of yelling back and forth or preaching to the choir. Neither of those get us anywhere. WE are the ones that can make a difference and WE are the ones that can truly CHANGE the world.
Knowledge of our history can show us the way. It shows us where we made mistakes, and knowing that, we can avoid repeating it. It also shows our great victories, and knowing that, we can certainly repeat it. It is said that history repeat itself. Well, I say it is time to stop repeating the failure-history and start a new history cycle of success. It is only through the concentrated efforts of like-minded people that we can truly make a radical change for the better. The other choice is to do little to nothing, complain about it, watch and suffer while history repeats the failures over and over again.
Let's do something about it!!!
Based on the original thought posted by Glenn, I believe we all, those 9-12ers out there, are charitable, but many of us, including myself, are strapped for time and money and do not have spare of either to be charitable with. I believe the way to change that is simple, but requires a concentrated effort by all of us; The Fair Tax. WE not only have to go on a concerted letter-writing campaign, at both the state and federal levels, but we must address the issues at the ballot box. It has been far too long since the ballot had someone who represented the principles and values we believe in and it is time we look within ourselves, as a group, and redefine our politicians as representatives, like they were intended. WE cannot sit back and "hope" for someone to come along and fix it. Only WE can fix it. What do you say?
