I have hypervigilance from CPTSD anyway, so going through daily life and thinking what-if and having reaction plans in place is basically background processing for me.

So, while I think about mass shootings in the same, abstract planning-mode as a bunch of other potential things, I don't think about mass shootings in a particularly visceral or fear-laden way. They're just one more shitty thing that could happen, and if it should happen to me, there is realistically absolutely nothing I could do than try to deal with it.

Also, I feel you on the food thing. It's great when I can identify what I need and go eat it. When the feeling is vague, though, I end up overeating from trying to figure out what the Magic Food is. Then I'm angry cuz I upset my stomach from overeating, and doubly angry, cuz I'm overfull and bellyachy but still unsatiated. :(

I went on FB last night (I only check FB every couple months). A couple old LJ friends were posting about Orlando. Everyone else was posting pics of their kids. I give up on FB. I know there's studies proving that watching other people curate their lives is depressing, but I just fucking can't anymore, even in small doses.
