Well gee, why not just let rockets compete in this case.

It'd be like allowing motorcycles to compete in the Tour de France!

This story is the 'inclusion at all costs' nonsense taken to absurd extremes. Does no one realize the EXTREME DANGER of allowing someone to fly an experimental jet engine in a race, especially when no other participants have such equipment nor any means of protection should it explode... as it did in this case?

Frankly, this little display of danger in the story should logically result in ALL mechanical devices being permanently banned.
