The Court is being asked to "appoint a legal guardian to effectuate plaintiffs' transfer from defendants' facilities to a suitable habitat in accordance with each plaintiff's individual needs and best interests." Well, PETA, what if that suitable habitat you're asking for is right where they are? It's not like the orcas are going to successfully be freed into the wild. Anyone remember Keiko the Killer Whale from Mexico? Yes - his living conditions were deplorable and he needed to be rescued. His rescuers, however, saw fit to use him as a guinea pig - he was trained to feed himself and he was set free at the age of 20. He never met his own pod and never joined the other pods he came into contact with. Given the opportunity, he quickly forgot his training to feed himself and sought out the food and company of the only species he had known for the majority of his life - humans. He died of pneumonia 5 years after his release, alone. The habitat provided to these orcas by Sea World IS the appropriate habitat for them.
I dare someone to try and bring a wrongful death action or some such thing against Walker and the legislature. Then her med and psych records are fair game and we can see what was really ailing this woman, rather than listening to the union pontificate about the "reason" she committed suicide.

I attended one of those for-profit programs, and find that it was far from a scam. They helped place me in my first law office and I've been working and increasing my skills on my own for the past 14 years. You make of those programs what you will; it's not the program's fault if the industry you've chosen is full or if you've since decided you don't like that kind of work (let alone any kind of work). Me - I was lucky. I love what I'm doing and there are plenty of jobs out there for me to choose from. If it wasn't for the program I enrolled in, God only knows where I'd be now.

Sudan is predominately Muslim, true; but this war is about the Arab Muslims attempting to "civilize" the Africans through war and subjugation. It is the Islam we all know from 9/11 pushing its way into Africa and gaining a foothold. And, what few Christians there are, and the Animists, along with the African Muslims, are evicted from their homes, rounded up and kept in camps. Leaving the "safety" of those camps is a guarantee that the janjaweed will come for you and kill you if you are male, and rape and beat you if you are female (regardless of your age). This is not a "simple" civil war - this is genocide and must be acknowledged as such.
